Unfortunately, power is what determines who is a leader. If Trump was president of any other country no one would give him this much attention. He’s got the US military, diplomatic and economic power behind him and that makes him the leader. If it was easy to dismiss him, we already would have. Any other “new” leader has to take the US into account.

Zelenskyy seems the best candidate right now. He has the most skin in the game of any leader and is the only one so far to have shown the mettle to do it…

It would be the best kick in the teeth for Putin and the US fascists – the one they wanted to stomp over becomes the head of their most powerful opposition.

He’s done well as a wartime leader, but his peacetime leadership was marked by cronyism (the head of the intelligence service was his TV Producer partner, which went well) and a credible corruption investigation halted by the invasion. Without the grand purpose of the war, he’d probably be too scandal-prone to hold a consensus.

It’s hard to see a world leader though as so many electorates have turned inward. Zelenskyy is the one with an outward focus.

I mean, Ukraine was (is?) probably the country with the most corruption in Europe, I’ve been there, it was flabbergasting. It stands to reason that you don’t become the president of such a country without getting dirty yourself.

But everyone can improve, that’s part of the point of this war I think: Ukraine could have just let Russia take over, everything would have probably gone back to “normal” in a few years, but they’re making sacrifices for a better future, one closer to European democracies.

Of course what op is saying is childish nonsense for so many reasons it’s not even worth discussing.
