F. Cooke’s restaurant in Hoxton, London.

I’ve actually been there, but it was late in the afternoon and they were out of jellied eels. I did have the pie and mash with the sauce. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t extraordinary either. I’m sad I didn’t get to try the eels though.

Why is it every time I see English food in a film/TV show it basically looks like vomit on a plate?

Nothing personal. Tell me I’m wrong.

English cuisine is known for not being particularly good or appetizing.

I’ve been there and it’s not ALL bad. If it’s well prepared most dishes are really good. However, most places don’t prepare them well. And most of the times the sides are simple steamed carrots and green peas without butter or salt and either fries or mashed potatoes, which is pretty bland.

I’ve been to the restaurant in the video and it was alright. But not extraordinary. The place is the oldest fast food restaurant in London. Not the best. Food was okay, but I wouldn’t eat it everyday.

I’ve had haggis and it was awesome. They got good savory pies too. And you won’t find a better fish and chips. It’s a good thing they got Indians to spice things up a bit.
