    I’m from the south and some of us just talk like that. Is it supposed to be mocking a race instead of just poor folks from Appalachia?

      I think it is mocking a certain conspiracy theory (black Israelites??) by people who think all black people were the ancient Egyptians. “We waz kangs/ we were kings” is the phrase.

      Since it involves black people, it is obviously used by alt right alt hist dudes to discredit and mock all black people.

      As the other guy mentioned there were/are places on the internet that frequently posted propaganda styled stormfront images of black people (exaggerated features, like lips and etc) using some variation of the phrase “we wuz kangs…” and so on. Like I said the phrase (or it usage in the op) isn’t racist, just that people should know it’s a phrase with some history.
