This week, President Donald Trump will head to the Middle East for the first foreign trip of his second term. While he is there, he will reportedly manufacture a new conflict of interest for himself by accepting a luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet as a gift from the Qatari royal family.

Trump will use the plane as the new Air Force One until just before the end of his term, at which point the plane’s ownership will be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation, according to ABC, which first reported the news, citing sources familiar with the proposed arrangement. ABC reports that the gift of the plane—which is reportedly so opulent that it’s known as “the flying palace”—will be announced this week, when Trump visits Qatar.

If Biden had done half of what Trump has, the right would have descended upon D.C. in a coup 20x the size of Jan. 6.

Half? Any single one of the more major issues would have sparked that.

Denying election results? Blackmailing a foreign country to start a false investigation? Running as a convicted felon? Even hinting at staying in power unconstitutionally? Spending ~20% of his time on a golf course? Directing an insurrection? Firing investigators investigating himself? Backchanneling Russia? Hiring family to federal positions and waiving clearance concerns? ….

It’s a BRIBE. Stop fucking softening it! This isn’t Jimmy Carter’s peanut farm. A foreign government just gave a million-dollar object to The Idiot, personally.

I don’t really understand how he could use this as Air Force One. Engineers would have to go over it for any issues, Secret Service would check it for any kind of bugs, then it would need kilometres of new cabling, plus whatever else goes into an aircraft the president uses. Idk, different avionics, countermeasures, escape pod for Snake Plisken to find, etc.

Oh simple, none of those issues even remotely passed through his brain.

He’s only accepting it as the President with a story that he’s planning on using it as Air Force One. Now it becomes an ‘official act’ and so he’s immune to prosecution thanks to SCOTUS.

At the end of his term, no progress will have been made on the retrofit and he will take control of the jet exactly as it is.

This situation is just Trump blatantly accepting a bribe and laundering it through ‘an official act’ to render himself immune to prosecution. Blatant corruption in broad view of the public.
