Whenever there’s a post by a Muslim person that shows even a bit of empathy towards Igbtq people, I find comments like this all the time.
I don’t understand why people are so hostile towards Igbtq people?
Even if they think it is a sin, aren’t we all sinners in some ways?
Mocking, insulting, saying things like ‘You can’t be gay and Muslim’
‘Read lot’s people’s story, they got destroyed cause they were gay’ ‘lot’s wife got destroyed cause she was an ally’ and what not…
and if someone says something against these comments people start calling them kafir. I’m tired of such people.
Why can’t they just mind their own business and let other people be.

Religion professes to be the correct moral code - to the people living within it, it’s thus clearly the morally imperitive move to force that morality on ofhers.
The correct middle ground is to live and let live. We should recognize the legal code of the land that gives them the right to lgbtqia2+ stuff, and we should be kind, civil, and respectful when engaging with them.
At the same time, we shouldn’t consider ourselves an “ally” to those actions. Likewise I doubt a secular humanist would consider themselves an “ally” to an Islamic convention.

I’m (approximately) a secular humanist that is opposed to my country’s face coverings restrictions. I’m an ally to Muslim women trying to secure the right to this Islamic convention.
I’m an opponent of the practice itself, but Muslims should definitely be allowed to do it. I’m an ally of those seeking the right while, simultaneously convinced practicing the right is not the best path to a flourishing society.
I hope that if you ever witness a person being mistreated for having a minority sexual orientation or gender identity that you will be an ally to them.
