Oh, there is some demand left, but increasingly only among snake oil peddlers, scammers, Nazi T-shirt sellers and other dubious entrepreneurs with very small advertising budgets. You know, those kind of “businesses” that have no problem whatsoever with all the factually incorrect and inflammatory content of Twitter.

The basic conservative dynamic is fantasy.

Their primary fantasy is that the golden age to which they want to drag us all back actually was a golden age. That’s of course accompanied by the fantasy that it should be, or for that matter even can be, recreated.

Arguably the most notable of their fantasies currently though is that a “silent majority” agrees with them, and that the derision and condemnation they face is somehow the result of some sort of conspiracy rather than the very simple and plainly obvious fact that the majority of people actually simply disagree with them.

Conservative supporters may live in this fantasy. But Trump, Elon Musk, Koch, MTG, Peter Theil and other MAGA or Conservative leaders do not.

Power is what they are after. Selling a fantasy is just part of the process. Either they want to create Libertarian wet dreams where they can do whatever they want without risk of government interference. Or they want a dictatorial hellscape where taking opponents on one way helicopter rides over the ocean is within their power.

They will sell their supporters out and/or put them against each other when the time comes to consolidate their power. As for anyone who opposes them, they will have a “final solution”.
