I like a few non-political sublemmies from lemmyworld because they are big. But the political ones are so toxic they literally allow citing mein kamf and dehumanizing Russians. Isn’t it hypocritical for their admins to accuse us of “negativity” when they literally allow racism on their instance? The commenters on their defed post call lemmygradians hateful, I think that’s projection

Liberals are against all forms oppression except those that they like (speciesism, Russophobia, Slavophobia, Sinophobia).

FYI, that screenshot was from a thread on Lemmy.zip. That said, your point stands and I’ve seen far worse on .world. The .worlders have a tendency to drive me away from .ML posts too because there tends to be so much chauvinism coming from that instance.

Ultimately, I think it benefitted us, but I think it also drove them to be more like Reddit, which is what they wanted.

Edit: For those who may stumble.upon this and think OP was exaggerating about this sort of drivel being directly from Mein Kampf…

Never forget that the rulers of present-day Russia are common blood-stained criminals; that they are the scum of humanity which, favoured by circumstances, overran a great state in a tragic hour, slaughtered out thousands of her leading intelligentsia in wild bloodlust, and now for almost ten years have been carrying on the most cruel and tyrannical regime of all time.

Furthermore, do not forget that these rulers belong to a race which combines, in a rare mixture, bestial cruelty and an inconceivable gift for lying, and which today more than ever is conscious of a mission to impose its bloody oppression on the whole world.

    Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

Dang, wish I’d known that sooner so I could’ve called out people I’ve heard paraphrase this. Thanks for adding the quote!
