It was something beyond that (in the sense that it’s what fuels the behaviors that result in that) and after some contemplation I think it’s that these seem to be designed to feel “quirky” and “creative” and “unique” but seeing the exact same design lined up in rows shatters even that illusion.

Just a few more weeks until the Christmas stuff starts showing up, and that means the Hannukah end-cap with what were clearly Christmas decorations that were now painted blue and silver will show up. Hey, if we’re lucky, there might be a single kosher Channukiah, but that’s unlikely. The chocolate Santa’s rewrapped as “chocolate Macabees” were a previously unseen surprise a few years ago.
