GOP lawmakers have made the state hostile for trans youth. These teens and their parents vow to ā€˜assert themselvesā€™

Some parents have stockpiled medications in hidden locations. Some have stopped socializing with neighbors. Some have made plans to flee the state.

In Missouri, transgender youth and their families are grappling with anĀ onslaught of attacksĀ on their rights. Last year, Republican lawmakersĀ outlawedĀ criticalĀ healthcare treatments for trans youthĀ andĀ bannedĀ many trans athletes from school sports. Local school districts worked toĀ censorĀ LGBTQ+Ā booksĀ and prohibit trans children fromĀ using bathroomsthat match theirĀ gender identity.

And the stateā€™s attorney general hasĀ becomeĀ a national leader in anti-trans policy, seeking to gainĀ accessĀ to trans kidsā€™Ā medical records,Ā fightingĀ to restrict transĀ adultsā€™ healthcareĀ andĀ attackingĀ trans adults who use public locker rooms.

For reference, Illinois is the place Missouri folks can go for proper treatment (including abortion access). It can be a 4-5 hour drive from the west side of the state though

The Brigid Alliance helps cover transportation costs for people who need to travel out of state for abortion access, if anyone needs help or if anyone is looking for an organization to donate to.

Well of course not. They donā€™t see cis children as people either, just as property. Youā€™re a person in the womb, property until you turn 18, and a drag on society after that unless youā€™re a christian conservative.
