We’re drowning in red tape. The level of regulation stifles innovation. It stifles creativity," Maloney said in reference to the federal government’s overall handling of industry.

An incredibly bleak quote, oh my god…

I wonder if lack of regulations would benefit industry (at the workers’ expense and lives ofc) or just make everything collapse faster

The trick here is to realize that the two sides of the debate on the level of government intervention are fictionalized controversy that does not represent Socialism and Capitalism which got redefined by Pax Americana to confuse people. The actual difference between Socialism and Capitalism is the economic classes that is in government. The real issue is the political motive of the people who create the regulations and not the regulation itself.

Like, what “red tape” are they even talking about? I honestly don’t think it’s cool for them to complain about constraints in the military industry.

Didn’t CSIS put out a report how they see people rising up against the government once they realize how fucked they are economically as one of the major risks going forward? I bet that’s what all the beefing up of military is about.

They did put out a report that said that, and it was presented to the government. I don’t know why I can’t find it but I remember reading it. It could’ve been a different organization as well. I think there was a post on Lemmygrad about it. They’re either beefing up the military to fight domestically or send our asses overseas, regardless it’s not looking good.

Is this the report you’re thinking of? Because it was made by Policy Horizons and you made a post about it a while ago:

Yeah that’s the one, I remember it because the other amazing bit was this

Indigenous peoples are formally involved in the governance of unceded territories across Canada, including in densely populated areas.

They just straight up admit that Canada is occupying sovereign indigenous land

Yes, that report is truly strange as it states everything so obviously and concisely, the language is incredibly easy to read and understand, and yet the only thing the government is actually concerned with was civil unrest. So much so that they might even be hardening our military because of it. Although, that is just a theory.

Exactly, it’s shockingly blunt and honest. They don’t try to sugar coat it in any way, which was really amazing to me. Perhaps it wasn’t expect to be made public?

and yet the only thing the government is actually concerned with was civil unrest.

It makes sense, if you think about it. All our country’s problems are self-inflicted; the system is acting exactly as intended.

The individual culprits’ intents may not be exactly to revert the country back to feudalism (or to mask-off fascism), but collectively and effectively, it is what it is, and none of them are willing to change course (because it would eat into their bottom line). All the various rentiers that truly constitute the government and institutions of this country (the cartels/oligopolies, landlords, etc) are moving this country exactly in that direction.
