I love those books. Jane annoys me a great deal of the time, but isn’t as cardboard as it first seems. Each book is very different. Cracking good fun, but Very very British.

It’s family xmas day for me - and the longest day of the year. For a number of reasons. One good thing is the venue is Somers on Westernport Bay, where my brother has a house. It’s been my family’s go to spot for holidays since about 1966 and while it’s changed a lot I still love it there.

The deli in Richmond Traders - the one near the doors out to Church Street. Exxy but looks verra verra nice. They also had marinated sardine fillets, so I grabbed some of those too. Strickly for my own consumption.

Today I need to go water two friends’ plants and sort out the crap I’ve left at one place. I’m loathe to face the small pile but I WILL do it! And then plan my cooking for Xmas lunch as I’m working Monday and Tuesday.
I’m almost wondering if it might be worth it to work from home on Sunday instead and cut short Tuesday so it’s less of a rush. Might just do that…

On the one hand, I can’t imagine them just leaving the poor babies there, but on the other, I can’t imagine anyone loading some rhinos and parrots into the back of a ute and driving 4ish hours into melbourne

I got home after a graveyard shift one time many years ago and had a minor existential crisis because I truly didn’t remember the drive home. I read a couple of years ago that this phenomenon has a name: Highway Hypnosis. In theory, I shouldn’t have been fatigued that day, but that’s also a plausible explanation.
It took me a while to stop driving to an ex’s place. I’d find myself halfway there. I was driving safely, but my directions were by habit not intention.

Lol, just saw that Johnson & Johnson have a class action against them, because Phenylephrine does nothing for nasal congestion.
I’m like, we all knew that, so yay someone is holding them accountable. I did see people complaining how hard it is to get the proper stuff OTC, Pseudoephedrine, but I’ve never had a problem getting it from my little local pharmacy - though that may be because they know me by name now and they ping I’m not a drug maker lol.
But yes, Phenylephrine does nothing for colds and flus.

My “it I were rich” fantasy is suing every single company that does anything dodgy or slightly dodgy but is usually seen as too expensive to bother for a tiny amount of money. They usually get off lightly because half the time they just figure out a way to drag the lawsuit out until the other person is forced to settle for less
