  • I am like you. The way I listen to music is not the conventional way in which someone has a playlist and goes with it for a while, then add new music, etc… I am autistic too, and my music routine generally implies having a song or two on repeat for the day because they are a form of stimming for me. So I don’t use streaming services if not for trying new music before seeing if I want that song.

My rule is that if I find a song I can be comfortable with to listen to it for a while hour on repeat and I still like it, I’ll buy it. If that happens, that song is probably going to be my next stimming song for days or even weeks, meaning I’ll listen to it hundreds or thousands of times. If that’s the case, I’ll buy it.

On some rare instances, I find an artist that I really like because they have more than one song that helps me and then I’ll buy their album just to show support to what they are doing.

I also can’t go to shows because they are a nightmare to my brain and its lack of sensory overload control.

  • It’s actually pretty simple: they have created the perfect conditions.

First, theirs is not a customer but a fanbase. People want to be part of the apple universe because they are fans of it.

Second, they have made it extremely difficult to get out once you enter their ecosystem.

So basically you have a good bunch of people who are fans of their products (so not buying because of functionality but because of fidelity), and another good bunch that are captives of a previous decision and can’t get out easily.

There are other minor groups in their customer base, but they aren’t that relevant to make a dent in their sales if Apple loses them.

  • You really don’t know what you’re talking about. But that’s fine, go on.

I am saying that Qatar is not comparable to EU. And if you refuse to see that, then you’re part of the problem. How many EU countries can you name in which being gay is punished with death? If you really think that queer people is oppressed the same way in a democratic civilised country than it is in an autocratic regime as the one of Qatar, you are just denying any kind of progress, and hurting queer people more than helping them. You should be ashamed of even considering that.

You look like someone looking for enemies, and that’s only going to hurt yourself, not me.

  • Is feeling compassion incompatible with anything else?

What happened to this man is a tragedy nobody should experience (this is compassion).

The reason why this happened was totally avoidable, Qatar is a country everyone should avoid (everyone includes queer people too) because they have crap laws and don’t care about human rights. (This has to be said because we need to educate people so they don’t suffer this again)

Do you have the power to change Qatar laws so they don’t consider being gay a crime? I’d love a different solution, for example one that makes Qatar a livable place for everyone, but until this happens, the best thing we can do is not going there, especially if your mere existence is a crime for them.

    Edit: punctuation.
