I don’t live by any family, I don’t want to know or talk to people in the community or help them with their problems. I like just using my tax money to pay someone else to handle that. If somebody breaks into Mr. Johnson’s car to steal his change, we aren’t putting a posse together to find the guy.

And if we were responsible for solving our own crimes, I am going to go from being for gun control to loving the second amendment. Nobody better steal my change, because I value my property more than I value most people. Even my Aldi cart quarters in the cup holder.

Stopping a cat from having pee accidents by pouring bleach in their eyes? That pisses me off. I hate it when people treat pets like actual children.

Mint was so easy to install. I’m pretty new to Linux. Not afraid of having to do things in the terminal, but I don’t really know many commands yet. So, I appreciate the graphical managers for updates and drivers. You can definitely tell they really worked to make a polished OS. And I really like Cinnamon. It’s a very clean looking DE that has been super easy to transition to from Windows.

Unlike Kubuntu, I didn’t have to do any tricks or install anything from github to get stuff from my Steam library to work, everything just worked. And Kubuntu (or perhaps just Wayland) would crash upon waking my PC from sleep and wouldn’t recover.

That was my thoughts, too. So, now I’m running Mint on my gaming PC and the one hooked up in my living room for streaming. I tried Kubuntu, and liked it, but KDE Wayland was giving me issues. Installing a different desktop environment just introduced more problems, so I went with a different distro with the DE I wanted, which was Mint with Cinnamon. Now, life is good.

I love Lenny. Man, some of the calls are hilarious. I can’t believe people who make it to the ducks like, 6 times and don’t realize something is off.

I wonder how much of Lemmy would be left to view if you added Linux.

Battlezone 2: Combat Commander. When I started playing that, my brother and I had to face each other and use our laptops’ infrared ports.

Oh, interesting. I was not familiar with Bazzite. I have a tiny Dell Optiplex hooked up to my living room TV, I was going to put Linux on there soon anyways. I wonder if that would be a good candidate for Bazzite.

Hah, nope it isn’t an Intel. I’m currently fighting with my wife’s old workstation that I’m trying to use as a Linux gaming rig. It has an i7 9700 in it, and it just does not want to run under 82C in game. I replaced the old thermal paste, added two (larger) case fans, and moved the HDD to improve airflow. I can try a better low-profile cooler, but I really don’t know if that’s going to do it either. Short of water cooling, which would mean new case as well, I don’t know what to do.

I’d just get a chair that’s comfortable without any add-ons. I have a Steelcase Leap V2 at home, and a Steelcase Amia at work. I can and have sat in these for 16hrs plus in a day. Tempurpedic also has nice, thick butt cushions in their chairs at a fraction of the price.

I love Moonlight. I just switched over to Linux and haven’t gotten my Moonlight host set up yet. But it’s on my to-do list. What do you use to stream it? I’m rocking a Powkiddy RGB30. The square screen squishes stuff a little, but it’s pretty cool to play Astroneer on something so tiny.

For me, it’s a several hour process. I enjoy the cable management, for one thing. I like to handle each component as carefully as if I’m assembling a nuclear bomb. Idk, it’s a fun therapeutic process that I like to take my time with.

Well, except for the last one I built. Which is basically just crammed in however I could get stuff to fit. Had to bust out the angle grinder for the graphics card to make it in. Had to relocate the hard drive cage. Cable management is just enough so they aren’t rubbing on any fans. I have rubber shims wedged under the Blu-ray drive to prevent rattling in the stupid tool free drive bay. It’s a disaster in there. But it usually doesn’t get over 70C in game, so I’m not going to mess with it.

That reminds me of a guy at a company party that was making lewd comments about the head of HR. He told the guy next to him he’d f her so hard, sparks would fly out of her vagina. Didn’t realize he was talking to her fiancé. Then, proceeded to grope another female employee. When they called him I to the front office the next day, he honestly had no idea he was getting fired. He thought he was getting a promotion.

OK, so we were having a Christmas luncheon at work. HR made the flyer. It said “Holiday” party. Somebody felt that was part of the war on Christmas, and crossed out Holiday and wrote Christmas. That wasn’t the issue. Another guy took offense to that guy, and made a counterfeit flyer for the company Cthulu summoning. It said that the human sacrifice would be at 12, lunch at 1 so bring a change of clothes. He posted those all over.
