I’d actually say it’s the reverse, all labor is unskilled labor, but some of it takes previous unskilled labor to perform and is thus compressed.
This town, in fact, has more than enough room for the two of us

Cowbee@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which is the best part of winter: the sun setting at 5pm every day, or it literally hurting when you go outside?1·2 years agoReturning home after work, hands freezing as they touch the cold metal doorknob. Turning on lamps, lighting candles, making a lovingly tender and warm cup of coffee, snuggling up with a pet and a partner on a couch, cozy under the various old blankets you’ve collected over the years, and playing Stardew Valley, Skyrim, or any other comfort game together.
Grab some warm stew or curry, throw on a well-loved hoodie, and enjoy the security and hospitality you give yourself and your family.
Warm pie and cookies for dessert, and a book to sip on and savor.
The same way, generally. Work on decentralized, open source software. It’s modern Mutual Aid.

Pretty sure that’s everyone’s ideal, across all forms of leftism, except perhaps Le Guin’s Anarchist societies she writes about.
My phone’s autocorrect, apparently.
That’s incorrect.
Socialism is Worker Ownership of the Means of Production. There sre many, many forms, such as Anarcho-Syndicalism, Marxism-Leninism, Democratic Socialism, Market Socialism, Libertarian Socialism, Anarcho-Communism, Council Communism, Left Communism, and more.
Communism is a more specific form of Socialism, by which you have achieved a Stateless, Classless, moneyless society. Many Communist ideologies are transitional towards Communism, such as the USSR’s Marxism-Leninism or China’s Dengism and Maoism.
Whether by reform or Revolution, the form doesn’t change.
Cowbee@lemm.eeto politics @lemmy.world•Hillary Clinton warns against Trump 2024 win: ‘Hitler was duly elected’0·2 years agoBit of a false assumption, isn’t that? There is no ethical consumption under Capitalism, so trying to advocate for better while participating in an unjust system is a requirement for many people.
There’s nuance. Obviously, vote for the liberal over the fascist, it’s not even close. However, the fascists are absolutely represented in government, while there’s no leftist candidates to speak of. Leftists have to plug their nose and vote liberal, while fascists gleefully vote republican.
Voting is entirely for loss prevention, because ultimately it absolutely impacts minority groups and people who stand to lose a great deal by a republican victory. However, leftists will not be able to move America to the left by voting.
That’s why grassroots movements and building up of parallel structures are so important for leftism, it cannot work within the confines of a 2 party Capitalist state, and must be built from the bottom up.
