0·2 months agoCertain Tolkien nerds are so obnoxious about this, it’s like a mantra. In a lot of online spaces if you ever try to talk about allegory in Lord of the Rings you’ll get a dozen of these people responding purely to tell you Tolkien hated allegory. As though everyone isn’t already aware.

Sounds like pure ideology, you don’t need to uncritically accept the conceits of a setting.
Its shocking that it has the same budget as House of the Dragon.
Did nobody actually watch the prequels and instead pretend the Jedi of that era are uncomplicated good guys and not deeply compromised political agents? C’mon, the series is basically a prequel for the prequels. They’re setting up the Jedi’s eventual downfall due to their failures to real politik and look past their own religious dogmatism.
