  • I think this is quite the popular opinion, even among people who enjoy social media. I feel many people just accept this is the current state of things. But yeah, the evolution happened as the stress to monetize increased, so anything to keep people on the platform.

If you post something that makes someone stay on platform long enough to see an ad or two, wonderful! The algorithm will bless you with exposure and the emptiness in your soul will be filled with likes.

Social media platforms want to make ad revenue, they need the audience to stick around and they will employ all kinds of psychological trickery to do so.

  • Not me but I know KPop stans will pay exorbitant amounts of money on albums not really for the CDs they come with but for the added art books, photo cards, etc. I know one young person who bought multiple copies of physical albums with CDs so that they can get access to earlier ticket sales and stuff. Also apparently some songs are CD exclusive and people get really upset when you suggest they just look for pirated rips online.

So yeah, art books, photo cards, light sticks, key chains, lots of stuff that young fans are buying from artists they follow, and some of those things still come with CDs

  • Legit, outside of a gay dom situation (which is fine if anyone’s into that), when is it not weird to stylistically tattoo one man’s name onto another man’s body? Any celebrity name feels word IMO.

I can only think of like, dead family member that meant a lot to you as being something I wouldn’t question. Or maybe if someone’s got so many strange and interesting tattoos already you barely notice the stylized “Mr. Beast” on their ankle.

  • I feel like you gotta know what kind of games appeal to you. I’m also not into a whole lot of modern games but I got completely absorbed with Outer Wilds and Subnautica. Freely exploring a world with interesting mechanics while you try and uncover what is going on. Love it.

I also found I really enjoy Oxygen Not Included and Frostpunk. Something about making sure all my people are surviving and hopefully thriving really keeps me invested. And the little narrative things in those games are nice icing on top too.

So for games you like, like the RE 4 remake, what were the things you liked about it? Once you know what kind of things you enjoy in games it makes it easier to find more of that.

  • Introduced by a college friend. Buddy of mine was visiting my home country, we plan to meet up and he randomly and last minute tells me he’s inviting an acquaintance to our meet up. I was a bit annoyed at the sudden change in plans but turns out the rando he invited was a pretty cool lady with a lot of shared interests.

We went to a concert together that weekend, a comic convention the next and the fun kept going.
