  • Oh no they see the spam and bullying behavior (they’ve even been on the receiving end of it) they don’t see it as a problem because they’re a “trans positive instance”.

And the politics of the Hexbears is something they’re seemingly willing to overlook in the name of keeping trans positive communities together.

Yeah that’s really weird because hexbear often behaves in a way that paints trans people in a bad light, including the fact that they often push for certain ideologies and philosophies that are directly harmful to trans people. As well as certain philosophies that hurt everyone in general like being pro-genocide. How are they in any way a good representation of this community or the people in it, and how is it good for this community to have such destructive people tearing the place up?

  • Not talking back or being snarky but if you feel that way you might seriously want to look into Lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works, they have very bad track records of letting transphobes and bigots run wild, Lemmy.world is the worst, many of the people they’ve banned for bigotry have been unbanned or were only given temporary bans to begin with, often times they won’t even action users who are engaging in transphobia, even if reported. It’s really not great.

I used to believe Beehaw was a bit overly strict but honestly I can see they blocked these instances for good reason, especially Lemmy.world.

  • expressed the intention of federating with them the moment instance level blocking works

Ah so I take it they don’t believe the spam and hostility concerns about Hexbear users are legitimate, if they did their solution to the problem wouldn’t be “just block them lol”, it would be to keep Hexbear Censured. Though it might anyway, since the Instance blocking doesn’t seem like it’ll ever work the way anyone thinks/wants it to:

Users can now block instances. Similar to community blocks, it means that any posts from communities which are hosted on that instance are hidden. However the block doesn’t affect users from the blocked instance, their posts and comments can still be seen normally in other communities.

Siding with Hexbear is a red flag, considering the ammount of problems they cause from spamming to the pro-genocide propaganda they push out.

  • Of coarse, being a Femboy is 100% valid. I know what the post is implying and I’m acknowledging people who identify as male being GNC and liking cute stuff are still valid as their identity, despite some people suggesting otherwise (not saying you’re doing it by the way). I know that egg culture is very much a problem for GNC people and I’d just like to say, give it a rest, don’t they go through enough already, be supportive of them, that means respecting their identity, even if it contradicts your idea of gender stereotypes i.e. a boy who chooses to dress and act cute and feminine but still identifies as male. The important part is how they identify, not how they present.

Oh and I know that people are going to say “But FirstMajesticComet, there’s a line between being a Femboy and being transfem” I would say yes, yes there is, and it’s determined by how they identify, gender identity is self-deterministic, it’s not an outside factor, it’s true because the person says it is. Fighting or arguing against it is invalidating and disrespectful to their identity, keep that in mind.

Here’s a chart showing presentation and how they identify, notice that presentation does not affect or determine identity in this:

I apologize if my comment seemed harsh and cold towards the OP specifically, I have no ill intentions towards them as a person, or even their actions here. I only seek to show how it is important to recognize and respect the identities of GNC people and not crush or invalidate them inadvertently (or intentionally if you think they’re “in-denial”, it’s still invalidating them because you’re not respecting who they say they are) they do not deserve this kind of treatment. Remember the golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated.

  • Modding a switch does induce psychosis though.

Nah it’s easy, well once you’re in it’s easy. Getting in can rage from being mildly frustrating to meticulously difficult micro-soldering, I don’t envy Mariko users who need to solder a modchip in, even less Lite and OLED users where the pad is under the chip.

After that part though modding is a Breeze. Honestly most people should just pay to get the chip installed by someone else, takes all the hassle out of it.
