V2H unfortunately isn’t broadly available as a concept in the US yet.

For what it’s worth, most of the Kia/Hyundai V2L plugged into your house shenanigans aren’t as convoluted as they might seem. Basically there’s something called a Transfer Switch that you can get installed into your house’s circuit breaker. It tells your house to stop pulling power from the grid, and start pulling it from whatever you have plugged into the switch. It’s technology that’s been around for ages for gas generators. You can hire an electrician to install it. The big issue with the current Kia/Hyundai V2L and transfer switch setup is 1) the car’s doesn’t put out enough voltage to power an HVAC system in certain power outage situations, and 2) You don’t any of the novel back and forth charging where your house / the grid can use your car like a cheap reserve. Folks have used Ioniq 5s to keep a fridge and some lights going for days though.

At this point your options are be a Lightening early adopter, wait, or buy whichever electric car you’d like now and maybe look into a generator.

The single player campaign is excellent. It’s only about 6-8 hours long, but they use that time to quickly cycle between some inventive mechanics and set pieces. It’s one of the best FPS campaigns of the last decade. Definitely worth the $3.

I can’t help much on the power draw side of this question, but one thing to look out for with a UPS is some sort of communication option. (Usually NUT over ethernet, but there are some USB options too.) Most modern UPS brands will have a plugin you can install on your Raspberry Pi and Mini PC that allows your UPS to signal, “Hey, I’ve got 3% of battery life, you actually need to gracefully shut down now.” It’s mostly useful for NAS applications with spinning drives, but it could help save your Pi’s SD card potentially.

It’s a pretty standard feature these days, but the cheapest of the cheap will omit it.

They steered them back towards normal looking after the first season for what it’s worth. They literally have a character comment, “Oh hey, you’re all growing beards again.”

Lower Decks never misses unless you’re one of those folks with the Trek equivalent of the cilantro soap gene who just can’t get on board with an animated comedy show.

Modern Star Trek has its ups and downs. I’m just glad there’s so much of it. Discovery can have a weird National Treasure season, and Picard can have a bumpy Covid year, but there’s probably something interesting going on in Lower Decks or Strange New Worlds. (Or vice versa.)

I’m just happy characters like Stamets weren’t a one off experiment. It’s delightful to see queer folk continue to pop up in the main cast of other shows.

Reminds me of when a recent sci-fi author wrote a first person novel with an androgynously named protagonist. They didn’t ever directly refer or allude to the character’s sex in the novel. Fan communities and book clubs spent months realizing they’d subconsciously given the protagonist pronouns in their head. (It’s less awkward than it sounds due to the sci-fi premise.) The author only addressed it months after it came out. They got both Wil Wheaton and Amber Benson to create identical audiobooks for the sequel.

That scene from The Martian where JPL had a hardware copy of Pathfinder on Earth? That’s not apocryphal. NASA keeps a lot of engineering models around for a variety of purposes including this sort of hardware troubleshooting.

It’s a practice they started after Voyager. They shot that patch off into space based off of old documentation, blueprints, and internal memos.

Their botched alliance with the Kazon, giving holographic technology to the Hirogen, and the whole Tuvix episode would likely be footnotes during her debrief. They’d probably spend more time asking questions about meeting Amelia Earhart, proving that a graviton ellipse swallowed the Aries VI orbiter, and wanting to know more about… am I reading this correctly? A space pitcher plant?

You have to imagine her initial encounter with the Caretaker would get the most interrogation. In hindsight would a Federation council agree with her decision to blow up the caretaker’s array, or would Starfleet captains get sent some additional footnotes to the prime directive about not stranding your crew seventy years away from home?
