We need to hold people like these in high regard as a society not the constant rotation of pop stars. Funny thing is I can’t think of any women that belong on this though most of my teachers were women and they had a profound effect on my life. Dr Ruth Westheimer maybe?

Doesn’t salt act as a preservative for food? There are only a couple things I’ll add salt to. Now if we just started eating fresh food and less processed food no doubt we’d be better off. Hell we’d probably offset carbon emissions by eating locally sourced food and not having it delivered to us more than we would by banning fireworks

Is the article listed in the “Opinion” section? Opinion is not news. Some sections are titled “Analysis” or “Political Analysis” these should be viewed as opinion. Train yourself to recognize an opinion article by reading the headline before you even click on it. Also look to see if there is a dateline at the beginning of the article. This will tell you where the news is being reported from and the source. Some will tuck it at the end where you’re less likely to see it (ahem, Fox News). Some will state in the article who is the source. These sites that are 90% political news will often have reporters in Washington DC and nowhere else. Personally I avoid reading articles who’s headline is a question or state what “could” happen. Know that we all are prone to bias. In my lifetime we’ve gone from literally a handful of news sources to a thousand each catering to a group telling them what they want to hear. Don’t be afraid to read stuff that goes against your beliefs, it will better prepare you for debating. Last and not least, for Jesus Fucking Christ don’t base your opinion on memes!

My renting experiences were actually mostly positive. It’s the last renter I had that made me throw in the towel. My full time job takes me to a lot of high rise apartment buildings and I see what they go through. Most tenants are decent people but the few bad ones and their friends mess it up for everybody. I’m seeing very slimy property management companies from out of state buy buildings here because it’s relatively cheap. Crooked HVAC companies are just as bad. I wouldn’t want to live in most of the places I visit
