This is incredible. So much that it’s kinda hard to believe.

Yeah, as it sounds like you’re aware, if you’re not a full-time-company-person in the U.S, you’re basically expendable dirt here.

But we also have a majority of benefits tied to full-time employment. My wife and I live with family and both work part time…we both agree that jobs’ intrusion into peoples’ life space is a huge source of destroyed relationships and broken homes, depression, and plenty more social maladies.

It’s simply not worth it.

I’d hope his children would heel-turn and dismantle his empire after deciding they don’t want to be an evil misanthropic Palpatine like him…

Right now they only update to the “stable” Nvidia drivers branch in the repos, so I had to install the 565.71 drivers manually via the run file from Nvidia’s website to fix an issue with variable sync. (Windows without Wayland support would strobe solid black randomly. Yikes!)

The only annoyance is having to reinstall the driver from terminal any time the kernel updates. (Protip: just make a drivers folder in your /home folder to easily get to it from the terminal.)

This is referred to as “the hard way”, but once you get it set up once it’s really just ls /drivers/nvidia, run it, and then enter -> enter -> enter -> enter -> reboot -> enjoy.

Otherwise, between Steam, Heroic Launcher (for GoG), Lutris (for EA), and Bottles (everything else / standalone games, disc games, etc), I can play pretty much anything I want! and it runs gloriously! (Be sure to get ProtonUp-Qt to get better Proton versions)

I primarily spend most of my time in Blender, but games work beautifully. Plasma 6 is just awesome as well. My win10 install is getting so dusty right now, and I actually made the jump because it kept Bluescreening on Vermintide 2, and refused to “refresh this system” because “Can’t. Sorry.”

My only thing on the wishlist is for my WMR-baser VR kit to work in Linux… maybe that’ll happen and maybe it won’t. Otherwise, I LOVE Tumbleweed.

Automatic rollbacks with Snapper and BTRFS have been wonderful too.

You’re right, unwarranted doorkicking for unconstitutional search and seizure is very unlikely, thankfully.

I think dem-liberals have basically just used gun reform as a contrast to separate them from their opposition, but it’s had the side effect of giving many working class folks the false sense that the State is responsible for protecting them. The fringe-right neighbor-hating hyper-individualists have co-opted almost the entire narrative around the 2A conversation, and it sucks.

Years of history of armed labor unions and working class heroes unremembered, the fruit of their sacrifice handed over willingly by ignorant descendants. It’s tragic.

I used to be a lot more of a gun nut when I was younger. Now, I see them as an unfortunate necessity in an embattled, dark world, and nothing more.

Honestly? I often ponder this. It’s amusing when you consider how enamored we are with bosoms.

I’ve heard it described that “Woman is the most beautiful shape in the human consciousness.” And that stuck with me.

My wife often catches me gawking and thinks it’s weird but I’m just like “You’re just amazing. All of you. Everything about you.” I feel like an idiot because I can’t explain what the heck I actually mean.

It’s just hard to fathom how a single being can be so… naturally aesthetic!

Women are just awesome. As a visual artist myself, I totally understand the compulsion to depict cute/pretty/happy/sexy ladies all the time. Heck, some artists do this exclusively. Variety is the spice of life, artists, but I get it. 😂

I think we’re coded to enjoy rounded elegant shapes, but there’s something enchanting about femininity as a whole, and boobs and butts signal “feminine!!” to our brains.

Also I’d say size and such really doesn’t matter. I think the really fascinating thing is the sheer variety, to the point they’re unique to the woman as an individual person. And it has nothing to do with biological essentialism! (Tiny boobs are just as good at feeding young as ginormous ones)

It’s also a bit cultural, I think. They’re so obvious, yet hidden in polite company. So seeing them exposed feels like you have an intimate window into this person’s world, and you feel special for the privilege, I suppose.

Lol now I feel like a weirdo, typing this all out. Does that help? LOL

Too right about the bed bugs. At the library they’ve had to start screening every returned book for them. Yeesh!!

We once took a gamble on a fancy tempurpedic mattress that was on local auction where my wife’s grandma worked. “Nah nothing seems wrong with it!” She said. Cool! Won it for cheap!

We muscle it into the house and only in the enclosed space did we realize it REEEEEKED of cigarettes. It was NAUSEATING. We eventually had to pay more to have it hauled away. Learned our lesson.

The plastic base for it was nice though, and was cleaned pretty well by applying elbow grease and strong cleaning chemicals and sunlight and fresh air.

I am always impressed about how much I learned about the I.A.E.A from Metal Gear Solid. A fantastic example about how to educate your audience without being “edutainment”.

When dealing with corporates, I think they need a modified version of Hanlan’s Razor:

“When explaining a corporate decision, assume a close ratio of malice AND stupidity.”

“It only sold 45 million copies. ABYSMAL. (After we spent 95% of the total budget on marketing promising the world’s most flawlessly perfect game ever designed). FIRE EVERYONE.”

They were gonna but the corporate necromancer was out of network.

That’s just it though, the “passing glance” types that don’t pay much attention to anything at all will just assume the truth is whatever headline runs across their “feed of choice” the most often. Usually from large corporate outlets.
