So you decide that before the game starts? Weird.

The type of person that gets deep into TTRPG systems for their rules design will eventually want to apply what they learned (or think they learned) towards making a system themselves. Like with any skill, you want to flex it once you acquired it.

I am so done with D&D discussions. It’s a 10 year old system at this point and the new version won’t be meaningfully different. Heck, a lot of it’s systems are actually as old as it and it fucking shows.

Play different games. There is an almost unlimited number of them out there. If you stop talking about D&D, if you stop giving it this singular attention, you will feel better and,who know,s the authors of D&D might be forced to actually make something good, as opposed to focus testing subclasses like pasta sauce flavors.

I am curious if there is any astronaut that was on a SpaceX rocket and also owns a Tesla. I will hazard a guess that there is no overlap.

Good for them. Larian does not need D&D at this point. All the people who liked BG3 aren’t going to shun a new Larian game just because it doesn’t use a D&D setting. Quite the opposite, in fact. Them hyping up their own stuff can only help them keep people interested.

Meanwhile, Wizards can’t generate hype o matter what they do, because they are scared into stasis from the knowledge that they are out of ideas. Heck, a lot of the changes Larian made to the ruleset are things that the people at WotC should have made many years ago. It is very telling that those same people can’t help mentioning the game when they are trying to hype up their new version of 5E. A version that is scared to change anything except tiny details via a focus tested surveys and looks basically identical to the game they delivered ten years ago.

I know I have it in my bio, because I am in agreement with it since before you made it a rule.

Your own headline says that not all instances have this as an option. That makes it unenforceable for those instances. Pretty much this. Israels behavior should have been untenable to any decant human being since it’s inception. Leaving now is merely a sign that these people aren’t prepared to personally suffer any consequences for their part in this genocide. I can’t wait for them to cry about the businesses and property they lost to those evil brown people, cuba style, after Israel falls.

If the article headline is in the form of a question, the answer is no. Not that you needed me to tell you that.

I highly doubt the medical data to do these are available to a hobbyist, or that someone like that would have the know-how to train the AI.

But yea, rare non-bad use of AI. Now we just need to eat the rich to make it a good for humanity. Let’s get to that I say!

D&D might be a soulless product of middling quality because it is so corporatized now that they refuse to take risks or even release an actually new edition for their big anniversary, but they changed a word so we need to celebrate them.

All the while games like Fabula Ultima don’t even have the concept of race or species and you can define it via a quirk if you feel there is something important to distinguish your character. Lancer doesn’t even ask the question and just wants you to define what your character is good at. And yea the default setting of lancer only has humans, but it’s also a post-scarcity hyper future where people can change their genes and looks with great ease.

But we didn’t read those games and in the TTRPG space, only talking about D&D gets clicks, so this had to be about D&D.

Wow, what a conundrum. Really difficult to implement multi-track drifting with this setup.
