Bomb threats on Friday forced the evacuation and closure of public schoolsand municipal buildings for a second consecutive day, as the city continues to deal with sudden national attention because of false claims involving its Haitian population.

In addition to those school evacuations, several city commissioners and a municipal employee were the target of an emailed bomb threat, city spokesperson Karen Graves said.

A second email threatened multiple locations that included Springfield City Hall, Cliff Park High School, Perrin Woods Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Ohio License Bureau Southside, Graves added.

Former President Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, have pushed those false claims as part of a broader effort to use Springfield as an example of what they say are the harmful consequences of immigration.

She definitely has her car and I have mine. Mine’s over a decade old with over 100k miles, and hers is a year old. I think her car is really neat, but there’s a lot I don’t like about it. I was definitely in the camp of “Biden shouldn’t drop out” not because I wanted Biden to be President, but mostly because the people who wanted him to drop out just kinda hand waved away what happened after he dropped out.

They tossed about a few names that they favored and Harris wasn’t really on that list. People gave her a pass or offered some soft criticism, but she wasn’t on people’s short list.

While I’m very glad that Harris has really shone, I think that surprised a lot of people, there was still the opportunity for the DNC to fuck everything up and put together a ticket that would have been underwhelming. Luckily that didn’t happen.

I think this is an incredibly lucky “I told ya so”, the gamble worked out, but IMO it could have gone the other way far too easily.

Republicans don’t want freedom, they want to be feared. Because fear is respect to them. And the imbued threat by carrying a gun and the false demand of respect it projects is useless. At no point in human history, regardless of the punishment, has crime of any sort not existed. Carting around guns on every hip won’t change that at all.

TBF he did terribly on the first debate as well, however he was able to form up his “terrible” strongly in mostly coherent lies that left Biden’s mumbled and lost “decent” truths in the dust.

This time Harris led strongly and let trump hang himself, which he did admirably at.
