Nothing signals ones distaste for Musk more than tweeting about it on his platform.

They’re not trying to trick people into re-watching videos they’ve already seen. YouTube generally does a pretty good job of not recommending those videos anyway. They’re simply testing which thumbnail/title brings the most traffic. It might seem petty but it makes a huge difference.

The comment section of the top post on my Lemmy front page is currently advocating for a class war, with some highly upvoted comments implicitly and directly calling for the killing or robbing of wealthy people simply because they’re wealthy. If someone supports this rhetoric but opposes similar rhetoric from the far-right, then they’re being hypocritical.

It’s not going to be the end of the world, and it’s not even going to be the end of the US. The next four years will likely unfold similarly to the previous four under Trump. Then there will be two new candidates: the Democratic one will be seen as equally incompetent as Biden, and the Republican candidate will be considered a Trump 2. We’ll be having this same discussion again, and again, and again…

The fuck is wrong with people? Who votes for something like this?

I feel the same way about all the generic instagram influencer accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers. Selfies, holiday pictures, photos of food/jewellery/clothing/accessories etc. You could basically merge all these accounts into one as the content is the same. I genuinely don’t understand why they got so many followers and what the reasoning is behind the decision to follow such accounts.

Wouldn’t be too difficult to jerryrig a system which does that but because it’s going to be a huge waste of water I feel morally obligated to not even give you any ideas. Invest in a split AC system instead. They make ones for windows as well.

There are certain topics that are guranteed to have 80% of the commenters blocked when I open the thread. Then when I log out to read said comments I’m faced with the reason for why they’re blocked.

The people voting for democrats are going to vote for whoever is on the ballot. Same applies for the die-hard republicans. It’s the independents who decide the vote and many of them are now considering Trump. I’d argue that to whoever Trump isn’t the obvious first choice pretty much anyone else but Biden would be a more compelling candidate. They know what they’re going to get with both Trump and Biden. How much worse could they realistically be if we just pick a random dude from the street and nominate them instead?
