Maybe just the coloration of the photo, but the whites look yellow, i.e., jaundiced.
Look at the color of the white fur and then the color of the “whites” of its eyes.
It’s also really bizarre looking because it’s usually really difficult to see the whites of a cats eyes.
The desperate need to try to wave away any possible negative effects from social media by people heavily dependent on social media comes as no surprise. It’s like trying to criticize fast food to a fat person.
Some will acknowledge it’s bad for them and eat it anyway, but most will just get extremely defensive about it and try to rationalize or downvote. It has vitamins! If you only eat the unfried vegetables and only drink water, it’s actually good for you!

This won’t help much, hard to tell much just by someone’s face. What we need here is a window specifically for viewing the children’s genitalia. And then we need a dedicated monitor to watch all the children use the bathroom.
John, the repressed religious fundamentalist, has already volunteered. We’ve designed a room where he can monitor the genitalia from the holes we’ve cut, and we’ve also installed cameras inside the urinals and toilets with a feed that goes to the monitoring room, in case anyone tries to defeat our system.

$100-1000 watches are not being flashy with their money. Almost everyone I see with a watch has a watch in that range. Flashy watches are usually 2K absolute minimum. Apple watches are like 300-700 and they’re everywhere.
I had a friend who was REALLY into watches. He had a 7K watch he loved to show off, and he would research watches literally every day and knew tons about them. Walking around with him was wild because we would walk by some random dude in a tshirt and he would suddenly lean over and whisper “he’s wearing a Goobly-Gluk Goober FX367, that’s a 25K watch!”
Really expensive watches often don’t look it. Look up a Patek Phillipe Nautilus. 1.5M. Looks (to me) like a casio or something.

My neighbor bought a new 64K truck (I know because he constantly mentions the cost) had a lift kit installed for 15K (I know because he constantly mentions the cost) has four kids who are bullies (I know because I see and hear them), and constantly complains about gas prices and property taxes, despite the fact that he is one of two houses in the neighborhood with kids.
Most of property taxes go to fund the public schools, which his children attend. Basically the neighborhood is subsidizing his children’s education, but he thinks he deserves to pay less in taxes. I explained this, and he told me I was full of shit, but I think he knew I was right, because he started revving his engine early in the morning the day after that and did it for like two weeks.
Hilariously, he stopped doing it not because I complained – I’m up early anyway – but because his wife came out in pajamas and started screaming at him for waking her up. Quite the metaphor for Republicanism.
I gotta get out of this neighborhood.
Here’s the thing: I think the Republicans are going to try to human sacrifice in Florida for votes.
They’re already spinning the FEMA funding issue as being because FEMA “spent all their money on immigrants,” and another devastating hurricane where FEMA can’t help as effectively would allow them to run with the idea they’re already currently (ineffectively) trying to push, which is that FEMA isn’t helping.
They’re already saying they won’t vote for additional FEMA funding due to the bullshit “immigrants” thing. So they’re going to try to flat-foot FEMA, hope for a horrifying national disaster, blame FEMA for letting people die while spending money on immigrants, and then attempt to pin it on (Biden) Harris.
They’re trying to position themselves so they can let people die in order to win an election. And it’s very possible it will work.
You can already imagine what this lady/guy looks and acts like in her/his daily life.

I think the simple truth that the article missed is the fact that very few “old fashioned” voters that expect results from their elected representatives still exist. For the most part, what Republicans voters want is representatives that have basically did what they did. Posture and “own the libs” at any expense.
If you have no dignity or self respect, now is a great time to run for republican office, which is why so many lunatics are doing it. All you need to do is saber rattle and be loudly cruel. For many people, they’ve been told their whole lives they’d be miserable and go nowhere if they were uneducated bullies. And it’s largely been true, but then, suddenly, a new form of politics tells them no, you’ve actually been right the whole time, and it’s those “elitists” with their kindness and tolerance that were wrong.
And now is the time to punish them for everything that went wrong in your life due to your awful behavior and decisions. It turns out it wasn’t your fault, it’s just that the world is “weak” and never appreciated your “strength.”

How many more are predicted this season? I thought I read they feel it’s probable at least another hurricane will hit the US this season. Isn’t that why FEMA is freaking out because they don’t have the money/resources to handle another?
Why hasn’t she done Rogan or Vonn’s podcast? If there’s any actual conversion votes or fencesitters she might nudge, those would probably be where to do it. They do SO few interviews. Their fear of messing up, which is legit*, is getting in the way of effective messaging.
*Harris voters are much less solid in support. The number of voters who might reasonably not vote for Harris off a big mistake is MUCH higher than Trump. Trump is one long list of mistakes, which loses him functionally zero support. If Harris mispronounced Gaza, she might lose .5% right there.
