  • That’s a really hard one.

Everything from Meddle to The Wall are absolute timeless masterpieces.

I never quite got how Pink Floyd managed to give every album such a unique vibe, they are not even remotely comparable and in different moods each one may be my favorite one.

Meddle is incredible. The atmosphere is great and Echoes is just something else. One of the very few 20min+ Songs i just have to listen to time and time again. I also love the Bass(es) in One of these Days.

DSOTM has an incredibly dense atmosphere and of course a few of the most popular songs like Time and Money.

I just love Animals. The more aggressive, more rocky sound has such an incredible power. Pigs (Three Different Ones) may be a great contender for my favorite song. I’m probably not as anti-capitalistic as many around here but listening to this song triggers the urge to burn down some estates.

Wish You Were Here is incredible again. Welcome to the Machine is another contender for my favorite song. Wish you were Here an all-time classic again.

The Wall is the climax. From an artistic standpoint it’s imo the best album. The dark and gloomy atmosphere combined with the theatrical drama is incredible. Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 and Comfortably Numb again very popular songs.

So… my favorite album is probably Animals as I’ve heard that the most but of course it’s a close match and in a year my opinion may be different.

    I have already returned it.

Runs like ass on the Steam Deck even though it’s verified. As soon as you get out of the sewer, the framerate drops and it barely manages to keep 30fps with bad framedrops all over the place, even on lowest settings and then you get some muddy blur that looks far worse than the original and it’s barely recognizable due to all the AI-Upscale rendering artifacts.

I have just played Cyberpunk 2077 and it ran and looked so much better on the same device (and after that horrendous launch I never thought that time would come, when I would use it as a good example).

Also I quickly understood why it’s called a remaster. Pretty much nothing has changed except for Textures and Models and the few gameplay improvements (and let’s be honest here, Oblivion desperately needs them), you can get a so much better experience with mods for the original and make it a really immersive game.

The probably missing mod support was the final nail in the coffin. I may install the original again, as I really like Oblivion, or maybe I will just wait for Skyblivion, as it looks so much better than anything I saw here.

My expectations for TES VI are getting lower and lower. I’m pretty sure this is juat a cheap testrun for Bethesda to check if they can get away without having to put any work into a new engine and just outsource the Unreal graphics to the lowest bidder.

I really like the top right of the bottom blackboard…

“If we think very hard about it and break the fundamentals of math, logic and everything else we know about the universe, down into the most crucial and elemental components we may be tempted to come to the conclusion that 5 is - maybe somewhat simplified - just five 1s added together, basically.”

I’m sure that there’s probably more going on here… maybe…

  • I really wanted to buy this year’s Infinitybook but this one is just straight up worse than last years.

Slightly larger and heavier. The touchpad seems smaller. The bottom bezel got larger but then it got a reverse notch for some reason (which is quite ugly imo but I guess that’s subjective). Magnesium was changed to aluminium (I don’t know if this is a downgrade but as I understand it’s cheaper). 99Wh to 80Wh which will probably result in worse durability despite the more efficient CPU.

I personally think it looks cheap, like an old Acer or some cheap MacBook knock-off but opinions may differ.

The only positives compared to last year seem to be that you have a choice between Intel and AMD and that it’s cheaper.

I would have gladly bought last year’s chassis with a more efficient CPU. In fact, I somewhat regret that I haven’t kept the old model (I had the Schenker Variant but the 13700 was so inefficient it was hot and loud which was a deal-breaker for me, maybe I could have tried to tweak it a bit more). There are some other resellers of that chassis but they seem a bit shady.

Guess I will wait if the new Vivobook S14 with the new AMD will get some reviews and someone tests for Linux compatibility (or maybe even the Zephyrus G14, even though I don’t need a GPU).

The Pulse may also be an option but the touchpad seems really bad and I use that a lot. The battery is also rather small.

I don’t care about the price that much as long as it’s somewhat reasonable (and if it’s above 2000€, I really have to like everything about it).
