We ALL have regrets, even those people who aren’t alcoholics. I lived a lot of my life stuck in my shame and regret, and the truth is that it fucking sucks, and will never change the past. It’s possible to still remember and learn from our mistakes without spending the rest of our lives beating ourselves up for it. Look forward while still being able to acknowledge what’s behind us.

Stick with therapy, stick with sobriety, and hang in there. You deserve to be proud of your accomplishment.
