Yes, mamba is a huge improvement. Regarding docker I can’t really tell you as I’m not an infrastructure guy.

The rest of the outfit not so much
Ii admit it didn’t work out of the box on Mint as well, but didn’t take more then 10 minutes of tweaking. But yes, I would not call it “Linux-friendly”.
Interesting, I have no problems with a Pixma TS8350. Printing is working as shitty as it has always been on Windows. I have yet to configure the scanner to be fair.
We do geodata science and rely on some pretty specific C++ libraries that are only distributed via conda. While on unix-based systems it’s possible to get some of them from other channels or even building them from source, we mostly have Windows machines in production where we are not that flexible. Docker is unfortunately no solution due to security concerns.
If you are asking why I hate it: It’s bloated, uses more space than needed and it’s rare I can reproduce an environment from the environment file without running into errors. Using it feels unintuitive, I still google command after years. It was very slow until recently, when the libmamba solver was finally integrated. Last but not least licensing is a pain in the ass.
I get these vibes too, their other comment are in the same style.
In my field we rely on conda and I hate it every day.
It’s also a pretty old conspiracy. I remember hearing about this the first time about 15 years ago!
The oldest residential building is from 1550, but there is a church where the oldest parts are from the 11th Century.
True, but that’s because the Google ecosystem is much more than Geo data. I agree typing that into OSM search won’t have any effect, but with OSMand for example I can filter search results for glutenfree and it works (if the restaurants have that specific key). Less comfortable, but not impossible. Much more ‘problematic’ IMO is OSM missing the possibility to rate places and add photos of meals and menus.
It’s almost the same speed on my device which has much lower hardware specs. You can open an issue on github, or look if it is already mentioned in one of the other 3,000 (!) open issues.
However there exist countries with own constitutions outside of the US
Everyone has a plumbus in their home. First they take the dingle bop and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. The schleem is then…repurposed for later batches. They take the dingle bop and they push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. It’s important that the fleeb is rubbed, because the fleeb has all the fleeb juice. Then, a schlami shows up, and he rubs it…and spits on it. They cut the fleeb. There’s several hizzards in the way. The blamfs rub against the chumbles, and the…plubis, and grumbo are shaved away. That leaves you with…a regular old plumbus.
If you find a way to do this, it would be cool if you can share it!
Putin is a gangster leading a mafia state.
I find it really impressive it is only 93%. This implies there are still people who buy this crap

This story is about Stasi in East Germany. You may have thought about Gestapo in NS-Germany. Or maybe you are from the US and just read Germany (just kidding)
