A couple of (my) gaming related ones:
Avatar is a lemming in bed because this account wasn’t intended to be used except for creating communities… and then my instance announced it was closing.
A couple of (my) gaming related ones:
Maybe not Linux per se, but certainly learning how to write scripts and other technical stuff, to automate boring tasks or alert me of things, or writing applications to do things I need, has been a massive time saver - but also a time waster as I enjoy it, and probably spend longer on these things than the amount of time they’ve saved.
And as footnote, it’s always easier to do this stuff on Linux than Windows… plus you can stick things on a Pi so it’s cheap and quiet.
I need to do a proper new community post for this:
Sorry Larry - the people have spoken. We have a new Chief Mouser now, more aligned with the Labour government.
Very impressed with the Greens - four seats is double what was expected. Great result for them.
The Lib Dems have also come out of this really well.
Here’s the seat by seat exit poll predictions: https://news.sky.com/story/exit-poll-what-is-the-forecast-election-result-in-my-constituency-13163180
Thanks, have edited. Somebody did tell me that ages ago, but I’d forgotten!
Looks like today’s “best of” post hasn’t come through.
It may be worth noting that the character limit on Lemmy (at least on db0) is 50,000 characters. I know the directory posts are very very close to the limit (although that best of one shouldn’t be).
The latest YouGov poll actually has the Lib Dems as official opposition in one of their predictions. It’s unlikely though as things need to go particularly well for them and bad for the Tories in most of the borderline seats. I’d love to see it happen!
Hmm, odd.
We should have been at Tom Jones but thanks to the stupid democratic process we’ll be stuck in a stupid windowless room watching people count stupid pieces of paper. 🙂
Ace!
Ah-ha, so it wasn’t a general Lemmy problem after all… Thanks for looking into this and finding the problem!
I was going to put Bedfordshire in brackets next to that, but I forgot. I knew it could cause confusion!
I don’t think it’s the same thing? Fedigrow is discussing how to grow, whereas this one is for posting communities and asking for people to post in them (to help them grow). Similar, but not the same. I think if fedigrow was inundated with “please post in xxxx community” that would be annoying, whereas here it’s expected.
I think the rest of my communities haven’t seen activity lately, so I’ll have to post in them first!
