Can vouch for kopia, excellent backup tool.
Got any guides on how to strip plasma down to the bare necessities? I have it on a machine with 4 GB RAM, but I don’t know how to optimize it for such old hardware.
To be more concrete: security keys can communicate over USB or NFC. Just make sure it supports the protocol you want to use it for.
But there is also passkeys which is both software- and hardware based and is almost equally secure.
In Sweden most government provided services are accessible through a web browser, but you need “BankID” which requires Android. Which is kind of Linux, though not fully FOSS.
Have you tried a low-code database, such as nocodb? I tried satisfy my need for structures data that way and it works for simple usecases. There are formulas too, but they (like spreadsheets) require some knowledge to set up.
I use omnivore for longer articles and highlighting parts of the text. It also have a plugin to sync with obsidian. It’s really good, but I imagine self-hosting it can be tricky.
For a link-dump, I use Shiori. Could be anything vaguely interesting but I want to take a look later - works wonders for that.
And I have been a former pocket user, wallabag… But I stick with omnivore and Shiori.
I subscribed to wallabag, but there are so many rough edges I gave up on it after six months. Terrible experience 😕
Both Stockholm and Gothenburg are really nice cities - they’re pretty safe too unless you seek out drug lords or park your bike without a decent lock. Just don’t come here during the winter - you’ll be depressed by the lack of daylight.
In Sweden (and most European countries?) you need a two year education (1,5 yr theoretical, 0,5 yr field training) before you can work as a police officer. I think in parts of US the training is just a matter of weeks/months, which is very little considering the situations one need to handle.
That’s not even the bigger problem. I found the desktop ui very clunky. There were too many papercuts for me to keep using joplin. However, its TUI and mobile app are excellent.
As an ex social worker in Sweden (both as a case officer and treatment assistant), I can attest to the low pay, garbage benefits (if any) and extremely stressful work.
