I really love reading these posts of yours, especially Zheng Yi Sao (Woman Pirate, Fuck Yeah!)… I need to read your post on Wu Zao next
I really appreciate reading about non Western women who kicked arse 👍
When I die I hope it’s doing 2 of my favourite activities- sitting and doing nothing.

Thank you for the book suggestion, I had a brief look online and it does seem interesting, I’m going to acquire a copy… if he can describe the inner workings of computers in a humorous way, and if I can maybe learn just one new thing, then I’m in! 👍
Thanks again
Ah okay 👍
I’m quite happy with Mint, but I do have 2 laptops, one for travel and the other I can use as an experimental playground.
I think trying Arch will be out of my comfort zone right now, but I can see that as an option once I’ve got to grips with the basic stuff
Thank you, I appreciate it 😀
Thank you, I think this may be what I’m looking for (also I had it bookmarked and had forgotten about it)
…there would just be a high pitched sound and a photo of a girl and a puppet…
That’ll be the test card
Also there was ‘the interludes’ when they had to fill in a mini gap between programs, including, my personal favourite ‘the potters wheel’

Also do you remember the public safety films? The don’t go near deep water Content Warning- includes Jimmy Saville, stay away from the slurry pit, how to survive the bomb and the one that gave me nightmares broken glass (I can never frolic barefoot on the beach because of this film)
If my generation has emotional scaring it’s because of these films…
edit- for those that want a nightmare fueled trip down memory lane the bfi Public Information Film archives
I can remember only having 3 TV channels, and they closed down sometime around midnight until the morning. You got the fuzzy black and white bits of CBR on the screen when they turned the signal off
When videos came out, only my richer friends had them and they were few and far between, we used to have an after school video club where we’d pay 10p to watch a film in the AV room (sat on a carpet of old piss stains)
The internet didn’t exist, and I saw my first computer while at secondary school in the late 80’s (I’m thinking BBC commodore or something, I can’t really remember)
I feel so fucking old right now lol
Can’t wait!
I love those nice crisp lines, very satisfying… can’t wait to see the finished print 👍
They never stopped being cool for me! I just love watching the oil rise and fall, it’s very soothing 😀
I fancy a Mathmos lava lamp, either green oil with blue water, or something a bit warmer with violet or purple…
As usual my mum doesn’t know what she wants and neither does my dad (although my mum did suggest getting him some Baileys). My boyfriend hasn’t decided on anything yet, so it looks like I’m going to have to do some last minute shopping
Wow! What an amazing building, it looks like a temple or church
I thought it was modern architecture at first glance, but the fact that it used to be a postal office, and it’s over a century old…
They certainly don’t make 'em like they used to
This is something I’ve discovered about myself lately and I’m now trying to tackle, and hopefully start to dismantle.
I did a fuck up the other day and may have unintentionally offended someone (a combination of mental and sensory overload led to a louder than expected verbal outburst of frustration)
I’ve put out an apology and have asked for an accommodation to help with the sensory aspect, but I’m still churning inside and over thinking because of my shitty social and communication ‘skills’
Thanks for your comment, it sums things up ‘perfectly’ 🤣
Thanks for the info, I probably need to do a post explaining all the different types of printmaking… and/or do a quick description like yours when I post something a bit ‘different’ 👍
No probs 👍
Yes that could be it! I just remember it being amazing and futuristic pressing the buttons and zipping through hyperspace
I can also remember being very disappointed that the Atari packaging art never reflected the game graphics lol (I was young)
Me and my brother got one of these as a joint Xmas present, it came with a free game- Combat!
I loved playing Space Invaders, Frogger, Empire Strikes Back, there was also a space game where you had to input coordinates into a gadget to then hyperspace jump and fight other space ships, can’t remember what it was called but it was great!
It’s still at my parents house in the original box…
It’s a smörgåsbord of critters…
His brain is like an elephant’s, while his stomach is like a horse’s. The skeleton, however, is akin to a rhinoceros’s. The hind feet are entirely different from these animals, more like a tapir’s. Peeking into the mouth of a hyrax, you may recognize similar upper incisors from rodents’ teeth, upper cheek teeth from rhinos, and lower cheek teeth like a hippo’s. They even have two teeth in their upper jaw that resemble elephant tusks. The overall anatomy of a hyrax, however, is like that of elephants or horses. source
Well it is in Port Talbot, which is not a huge distance from Cardiff…maybe there’s a David Tennant nearby for someone to take home?
I do actually want to get a Raspberry Pi at some point… been thinking about it for about 5 years or so, BUT at the moment I want to concentrate on what I have rather than buy hardware I may take some time getting round to using
