That sounds neat. For our nodejs server this could be done without too much effort. Will keep that in mind, thanks. But I also have to check for the cra app we’re having a lot of issues with.

So, a hosting provider which I used to rent vps‘ses at, got hacked and leaked data(Adress, name, payment method, phone numbers). A lot. And then from there… my email provider is old and cheap. No 2fa nessecary and the password was old and simple. Additionally while the gaming accounts were gone, my PayPal n banking have been untouched.
But also … I also bought a new Chinese keyboard a few months ago and I can’t get rid of the small and probably unjust fear that there might be a keylogger in there. Would fit the timeline though.
Thanks maybe I’ll try it out sometime.
History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.
Already gave the thing away :D or what’s the picofly supposed to do?
For starting new projects i absolut agree. At work we have a legacy react app that just will not run on bun and for deno we would probably have to rewrite some stuff.
My switch. It’s been nice and all but my mail account got hacked and some people took all my gaming accounts. All of which I got back except for Minecraft(Microsoft) and Nintendo. And now it’s just a brick. Can’t do shit without the account, you even have to pass like 4 menus trying to get you to log in, when trying to play a game off of a cartridge. I haven’t even gotten an answer from their support except for their stupid automated system.
Struwelpeter was kinda gruesome.

This. When I open up teams on my phone I’m sending memes.
Yup that’s me as well :D I just never used them in the beginning because they were failing a lot of the times which meant you had to call over a clerk, who’s usually already in demand and it just took even longer … but it’s gotten better.
Im With you this but I just don’t like to talk to people who don’t want to talk to me. Worked as a gas station clerk once and I was always thankful for people using self checkout.

Ah land of 10000 lakes … and basic human rights.
this. It’s the same as with phones, just more obvious because they(Alexa devices) can’t do most of the other stuff you can do on a smartphone.
And because it might not be that legal or ethical or a good look to customers, they‘d rather not disclose it and hide the revenue partly through their „normal“ ad business or other venues. But that’s just my guess.
I was already imagining y’all were hiding the fire in it’s liquid form…which was a funny thought. But hiding sauce packs is harmless and funny!
Enshittification is a pattern where online services and products experience a decline in quality over time. It is observed as platforms transition through several stages: initially offering high-quality services to attract users, then shifting to favor business customers to increase profitability, and finally focusing on maximizing profits for shareholders at the expense of both users and business customers. #
There will be no wrapping up this project in the foreseeable future as it’s part of our main platform. I’m looking forward to moving from cra to vite and removing one ore more of the three css frameworks we are using. The App is also still incomplete as it’s replacing an ancient asp net project still partly in use … so it’s legacy hell over here. Also it’s all class components so … no useMemo atleast for now.
Edit: thanks as well, appreciate it.
Thank you. Right now I’m upgrading our 5 year old react version while forking all unmaintained deps … fun
