Every community I care about is dead
This actually happens a lot. It’s sort of an inside joke in the fandom as a result. Anti-furry people spend a lot of time consuming fandom material to get e.g. cringe compilation material, and prolonged exposure eventually gets them interested or dulls their prejudice.
ZFS and BTRFS could update their codebase to account for these (if they haven’t already), but I agree that their extra mechanical parts worry me. I really don’t care about speed - if you run enough HDDs in your RAID then you get enough speed by proxy. If you need better speeds then you should start looking into RAM/SSD-caching etc. I’d rather have better reliability than speed, because I hate spinning rust’s short lifespan as-is.
So far I’m just a programmer furry but I’m keeping my options open.
“If you don’t wear Special Clothes around me I’m going to lose it.”
When are we going to move past costuming for work?
“Unlimited” is always a marketing gimmick, and they’ll always contact you like “hey I noticed you’re actually trying to use the thing you paid for you need to stop or we’ll terminate you”. Along the same lines: “Lifetime license” means 5 years, and “All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes means Four Pancakes.”
Grats on Arch Linux install, S-tier distro for what it attempts to accomplish.
It feels like there needs to be a category in between conservative and paranoid. I’m probably 90% of the way over to tech paranoid but using Tor Browser and Tails is a little much.
In theory upvotes are counted from every server. In practice, there’s been some small synchronization issues in the past where servers fail to send upvotes sometimes. It should be better now.
It has a very high opinion of itself.
