If you’ve never deadlifted before, yeah, it’s not an ideal choice. If you’re intentionally doing deficit deadlifts though, or your body is just shaped such that the extra height makes the movement more comfortable, then it’s not the worst choice. Those hard soles probably provide a better, more solid base than the running shoes I see a lot of people lifting in. Ankle mobility probably leaves a little to be desired though.

We care how it is now, where unless you won the parent lottery, you’re probably gonna need two jobs out of college if you want to actually support yourself.

I can get an AMD 7800X3D, a b650 mobo, and 32Gb of DDR5 RAM for $500 right now in a bundle from my local Microcenter. I bought that exact bundle for like $425 a few months ago when I rebuilt my gaming PC because they happened to have some other sale running that stacked with the bundle price. Gimme a modern x64 processor and DDR5 RAM I know will feasibly last me like 10 years for a few extra bucks any day.

Harry Potter is sort of the Classic Lays potato chip of the children’s book world. Dependable, reliable, not the most exciting in the world but any stretch, but easily snackable all the same.
They’re easy to read, not super deep, and because of that, probably got a lot of kids into reading who otherwise wouldn’t have, and there’s something to be said for that. It’s unfortunate that the author turned out to be a bigot the whole time.

And then they start cheering and chanting “USA, USA” when Trump gets back up, which is not the typical reaction I’d expect in the middle of an active shooter situation.
