This person’s disconnected nature is super interesting. The thing everyone wants to question is their online content. In this case, they don’t seem to have left a footprint. Were they browsing privately? Was there a person in their life who pushed them the wrong way?
Some people still go through life without posting or taking much on the public internet at all, instead socializing at work or bars. Incomprehensible, I know.
That, I’m aware of. In the context of this extreme action it is rare for an individual to not have some telltale online indicator.
So far it appears he was a loner, with no real life friends. From the public information, it looks like he didn’t do much online socializing either.
There is no indication he was using any kind of privacy tools like a vpn/etc either to carry on an anonymous online social life.
By all accounts, he just didn’t talk to other people at all. The possible “major depression” diagnosis may explain that lack.
Valve is about to get into hot water for those forums
If Twitter can get away with the shit that is all over their platform, then the steam forums have nothing to worry about.
Yeah but Twitter is a alt-right breeding pit now owned by an idiot, Republican sponsor. Steam is were kids and antifa go to get games about their sick fantasies, like “self-sufficiency”, “joy”, and “measurable progress earned from reasonable effort”.
There are a lot of far-right, borderline and full on Nazis on Steam, it’s ridiculous. I used to admin a clan server for a game that still had support for self-owned servers and an in game server browser. 99% of the time checking the Steam profile of somebody who popped off with some vitriolic shit in the chat log showed they were members of groups like “14/88 Militia” or similar shit, and tons of their friends posting like ascii art swastikas on the profile wall. Fucking disgusting.
