    Highlighting how conservatives do not believe in an objective reality.

    Investigations aren’t to find things - they are a punishment, in themselves. You don’t arrest someone because a crime happened and you think it was them; you arrest someone because you’ve decided they’re A Criminal and then figure out what they’ve done. Conclusion first, followed by pretense.

    They think that’s all you’re doing. They think that’s all there is.

      It’s fascism … just pure fascism

      At every step, everyone just belly aches and complains … the metaphoric frog just doesn’t notice the rising temperature of the water they’re sitting in … but every step is fascism.

      Call it what it is and shout it out and argue it … fascism pure and simple.

      America you’ve been taken over by fascists.

      They’re arresting people and want to arrest more.

      You know what that means? It means you are in line for arrest … you are safe, as long as you stay in line and don’t dissent … you are being controlled to not do anything even as the government does whatever it wants.

        Even that isn’t true under fascism. It’s capricious and must continually find new enemies, so you may be rounded up tomorrow even if you feel safe today.

        Fascism is the unrestrained expression of conservatism. It’s the far end of a spectrum that is inseparable from any card-shuffling to justify ‘us good, you bad.’ Ingroups the law only protects - outgroups the law only binds.

        And again, that’s all they see in us. Equal protection is “discrimination” because that’s all they’d do. Gay rights are “special rights” because that’s all they’d do. Secularism is “indoctrination” because that’s all they’d do. We must acknowledge, these people don’t secretly know they’re full of shit, and then spout nonsense just to fuck with us. They’ve been telling us how they think, the entire time.

        When we get through this, “never again” will mean teaching the survivors to spot these dipshits and keep them away from the sharp knives. Maybe put a bell on them until they can maintain an opinion.

      This is because commiting crimes is a foregone conclusion for Republicans. They live in this weird world where everyone breaks the law as much as they do. Innocent people are a myth. An investigation is just the first step in punishment.
