Trump isn’t under investigation here, he’s one of the victims. What could he tell the FBI that they don’t already know? I’m pretty sure members of the secret service are required to provide records of what they saw anytime there is an incident. Trump isn’t a medical professional, if he says he was shot and it was actually shrapnel that doesn’t mean anything, he’s not expected to provide acurate medical diagnosis.
I don’t think anything will come of it, but just in case you’re not aware, it’s a crime to lie to the FBI. So while they’re interviewing Trump as a victim, if he knowingly lied about something, even unrelated to the shooting, that could be the basis for criminal charges.
