He’s terrible at Roman History. She supposedly won the competition with 25 partners. Also of note is that Romans would regularly make up stories about their political rivals. There was no legal defense against slander or libel so they’d accuse people they didn’t like of really weird shit. She also supposedly waited for her husband to go to sleep and would go work in a brothel wearing a blonde wig at night.

She was very likely a very shitty person, and there’s plenty of evidence that she was out there ruining lives for political gain. That makes it even more likely that there were crazy stories about her that were made up by her rivals.

Conflating her total (supposed) body count with the contest, I think. But like I said, likely tabloid slander.

You’re likely right in both cases. I guess my brain bypassed your post title the first time I saw it because I legitimately had to go back and look where you said it was probably tabloid slander.

Either way, I was criticizing the fictional guy in the meme, not you. Now I realize how strange it is that I don’t care that the dude just gives people random Roman names because he can’t be bothered with their real name but care very much that he’s wrong about something he supposedly knows a lot about.
