Much of the attention on Thursdayā€™s presidential debate fell upon President Joe Bidenā€™s faltering performance, which has called into question whether he can even remain the Democratic candidate. In the aftermath, some have focused on former President Donald Trumpā€™s nonstop lies.

Left largely overlooked, however, has been the open xenophobia Trump deployed against Palestinians and immigrants, and the silence with which it was met.

The most striking illustration might be Trumpā€™s response to a prompt from CNN moderator Dana Bash, regarding Israelā€™s war on Gaza and the ā€œhumanitarian crisisā€ that Israel has created while killing thousands of Palestinians.

As Biden insisted that Hamas was the only entity standing in the way of a ceasefire, Trump actually pushed back on the idea. ā€œYou got to ask him,ā€ Trump began, referring to Biden, ā€œas far as Israel and Hamas, Israel is the one that wants to go. He said the only one who wants to keep going is Hamas.ā€ He continued: ā€œActually, Israel is the one, and you should let them go and let them finish the job. He doesnā€™t want to do it. He has become like a Palestinian. But, they donā€™t like him because he is a very bad Palestinian. He is a weak one.ā€

sorry are we talking about my vote now, or the people who you pretended to care about a minute ago?

The people I care about beingā€¦ me and the rest of the vulnerable demographics in the US, for whom a fascist regime would be ruinous? Yes, itā€™s kind of important that one votes AGAINST the fascist. The two things, fascism losing the election, and people voting against fascism, are very closely related. Sorry if thatā€™s news to you.

The people I care about beingā€¦ me

weird how you opened this talking about the privilege of others and now itā€™s somehow boiled down to being about you

and the rest of the vulnerable demographics in the US

some of the most vocal ā€œgenocide joeā€ rhetoric iā€™ve seen has come from some of the people with potentially the most to lose from this election

      Ā

kind of wild that weā€™re still going for the pantsuit lady strategy of ā€œjust blame the voters that donā€™t like herā€ as if weā€™ve learned absolutely nothing from 2016

i guess if we just intentionally misrepresent criticism of biden then said critics will be forced to vote for him

let me know how that works out, i guess

      Ā

in either case, the ground is rapidly shrinking under bidenā€™s feet. tolerate him or not, surely at this point you have to confront the very realistic possibility that heā€™s not going to win?

        What an absolutely bizarre take.

some of the most vocal ā€œgenocide joeā€ rhetoric iā€™ve seen has come from some of the people with potentially the most to lose from this election

Didnā€™t I already mention that voting for fascism is actually bad? That engaging in self-destructive behavior for oneself and oneā€™s fellow vulnerable demographics isā€¦ bad even if youā€™re one of those demographics?

I donā€™t know why ā€œVoting for fascism is badā€ is such a hard concept for you to grasp.

Donā€™t forget thoughā€¦ ground rapidly shrinkingā€¦. Something something donā€™t care if genocide continues as long as Biden isnā€™t elected!

The way the same phrases are constantly woven into the posts sure make it seem like either a clear Trollfarm account that got the instructions to drop those phrases or like an ai bot that got caught in a loop
