Despite a limited budget, I found the movie to be very inspired and well done. I thought the acting was solid and was genuinely creeped out for most of the movie. It isn’t the best adaptation of the character in my opinion—I think the animated movies Sword of Storms and Blood and Iron hold that title—but I think it’s a solid dark horror movie take on the character and enjoyed it much more than the 2019 adaption.

I liked it. I went in with all the weight against it and I liked it. I would watch another if it ever gets that far, but it also works on its own.
I enjoyed it. The low budget, horror but not scary, frightening or gory is appreciated. Atmosphere, setting and period was a nice change of pace from previous films. Casting did fine, Jack Kesy works as a young Hellboy. I would like to see more of the smaller/low stakes stories.

I love the Hellboy comics and i really didn’t like the movie. Felt like a bunch of film students got hold of a Hellboy costume and slapped something together in their spare time. Maybe my expectations were too high, I didn’t know it was a relatively low budget film going into it.
