It’s so insane watching America devolve like this.

An orange fascist had has a chance of winning

They place an old man as the only challenger

Everyone hopes that democracy will survive.

It’s like watching a train on fire headed to a cliff with a third of people with flame throwers, a third with water hoses and the remaining third not doing anything and hoping that they’ll survive.

Democracy already died with the SCOTUS decision a few days ago. Biden is a monarch. The only question is whether he will find the balls to use his power to remake the court and force it to turn us back into a democracy, or whether he’s too weak and in denial and will lose to Trump, who will use all that autocratic power to full effect if he gets it.

We know he won’t do anything because, at the core of the party, Democrats don’t care about democracy. They are so convinced that Republicans aren’t serious about throwing them in prison and executing their enemies. If Biden loses in November, they will find out.

Why does everyone keep acting like it’s some horrific aberration and portent of doom that an incumbent is running for reelection? It was certainly a possibility that Biden would choose to be a one term president, but it’s not like choosing instead to run again is some out of character and wholly unexpected outcome, but everywhere I see talk about this display the surprise and incomprehension of if he had instead chosen to eat a baby on live television.

There have only been a couple exceptional situations where the incumbent has not been the candidate. Never in recent history. Incumbents have a 60% success rate of re-election across offices. It’s even higher among presidents …only Bush Sr and Carter failed to win re-election since WWII.

Actually, there is one other: Trump. Who did he loose to again?

It’s worse than that, the USA is tearing itself apart over the guy from Home Alone 2. Like what in the world have we spent the last 9 years doing?

I really do feel like there’s a decent chance America becomes a new Russia or China. A powerful country ruled by an autocrate and his oligarchs.

I can’t believe Captain America would do something so fascist as punching someone he disagrees with politically.

(The biggest /S that ever existed)

I would sell my soul for the opportunity to watch Captain America beat the shit out of the orange asshole. Hopefully to comatose levels, at least long enough for the election to come and go.

Doesn’t matter. What might, is an egregious enough split to finally motivating enough people to care about removing it. I’m gonna do my part.
