I’m new to Lemmy and posted some nsfw posts with pictures on some nsfw communities. They weren’t offensive and fit with the communities I posted them on. I also labeled them all as nsfw so that shouldn’t be a problem but every single one of them no matter the community has negative votes. Am I doing something wrong? Is it the pictures? The titles I post them with? or am I just being targeted by someone who is downvoting them all?

The greater Lemmy community isn’t particularly nice about NSFW material in general. People will downvote ainplay because they don’t want to see NSFW(even though you can disable it), because you don’t got into their sexual/aesthetic preferences, or for very little real reason at all. Don’t let it get to you

Lemmynsfw has down votes completely disabled so I can’t see the severity of downvotes for your posts, but do yourself a favor and make an account on this instance so you don’t need to worry about it. This change was put in place here for a very good reason.

Also on the NSFW side, a lot of folks seem to browse all the communities at once from the main lemmynsfw page. I could see it being annoying to see the same photo 5,6,7 times in a row, even though you are posting to different specific NSFW communities.

That’s definitely also a part of it. On local there’s not enough content if you browse daily to really need to curate a feed honestly. Based on conversations from the instance in the past, most users browse by ‘hot’ or ‘new’. Posting the same image more than 3-4 times is definitely frowned upon and will get you a bad reputation if you do it consistently. Downvotes are coming from users on her home instance and the greater community though.
