I can hear my laptop’s screen refreshing for some reason, it doesn’t really bother me but it is weird.

Yep, just an example of how names don’t necessarily correspond to the actual dimensions.
People like you are why vampires are almost extinct. Be considerate and share a little.
They’re orphans, who’s going to be sad, their parents?

It’s not really about “attracting” asteroids, it’s more about their orbital trajectory happening to intersect the Earth’s at the right time. I think the Moon’s gravity is about as likely to redirect an asteroid towards the Earth as it is away, but the Moon also physically intercepts some asteroids, so the net effect would be a slight decrease in Earthly asteroid impacts.
Yeah, 2x4s aren’t even 2"x4" anymore, more like 1.5"x3.5", but the name has still stuck.
So much effort, just to cheat in a video game. I can’t help but feel like those people could be doing something slightly more productive. Though I’m sure it’s fun as a hobby.
As an American, I use the metric system whenever possible. As of more recently, it’s usually taught in schools, as well as used ubiquitously in science. I wouldn’t be surprised if the US switches to primarily using the metric system in the next few decades.
Sure, but .yu, .tp, .zr, and .an were deleted. We’ll just have to see.
I think you mean registry; they’re the sole entity responsible for managing the domain. Registrars are just the ones selling them. Technically speaking server status codes are supposed to be set by the registry, but I imagine they have some system in place to let registrars set certain status codes automatically.
Yeah I’m gonna call bullshit on this one, no way they’re acheiving 20% efficiency with paint. There’s also almost no info on what this paint is and how it’s supposed to work. And, of course, a revolutionary technology like that could make them billions if used for more “normal” solar generation.
Yep, and if you do manage to make someone pass out they’ll probably just end up dying.
It also might disappear in the next few years, with the British Indian Ocean Territory ceasing to exist.
Just wait until they find out actual chloroform is easy to get ahold of for a few bucks from any chemical supplier.
I definitely get it; there’s a lot more separation between the average person and cows than there is with dogs. Many people keep dogs as pets, but few interact closely with cows. That definitely makes it easier to dismiss their killing.
I think expecting moral consistency from humans is a bit of a high bar, as we’re well known to be irrational and emotional creatures. It’s probably better to appeal to people’s emotional side if you want to change their views, for example by taking them to meet cows in a farm and showing them how they’re sentient creatures too.
I think “all cops are bastards” is a harmful generalization. While abuse of police power is a systemic problem, there are also many police officers who don’t abuse their power. It’s better to focus on the systemic issues that allow for abuse of power, rather than dismissing all cops as inherently bad.
It turns out his brother didn’t die but was so close to dead they thought he was, he makes a miraculous recovery, and they play Minecraft happily ever after?
Just statistics, there’s a 99% chance to not turn into a woman each time, and 99% ^ 100 ≈ 37%. So the chance of turning into a woman after 100 presses is 100% - 37% = 63%.
I would if I thought I had a good chance of succeeding, but having never even used a gun before I would not exactly be the most competent assassin.
