  • A friend of mine (30yo) has really old parents (like 80yo i guess) and it seems that her grandparents also were “old parents” because she recently dropped rather casually : ‘Oh yeah, my grandfather fought in the boxer rebellion’ and that just blew my mind.

If I do the math, yeah it tracks but still, it was her grandfather. For comparison, in my family the person alive during the boxer rebellion was my great grandfather and he was a child at that time, to have fought during that time it would’ve been my great great grandfather.

  • He’s also dumb. There is a deposition of him in a misidentified shooter defamation case against him and he is not very capable of following logical conclusions. Like super simple a to b to c stuff needs several clarifications from the plaintiffs lawyer and even then he still doesn’t quite get the concept.

  • Well obviously they’re the good guys in their heads, 'saving humanity from the evil something’s. That their wealth distorted their worldview doesn’t even come to mind, and differing opinions are just misinformed.

I am a successful billionaire I must be right, everybody who opposes me is just wrong, my wealth is the proof that I am superior and should dominate the people of the world and why shouldn’t I, I am a billionaire so I have to be right, since I am so superior.

  • Lol everything he has done in these lawsuits was for the sole purpose to hide his money.

5 different corporate representatives were sent and the court ruled every single testimony of those as non responsive to discovery. The last corporate rep to testify was a hired outside lawyer with no experience in civil law, no familiarity with Texas law and had no experience in financial matters. Why would you send someone as your corporate representative, who has no idea what’s going on, or any experience in relevant fields? To obscure the process of discovery and to hide the money.

  • That makes sense, if you’re preparing for fighting in urban or mountainous environments. The columns heading for kyiv and other cities all had this iirc. But for the columns entering from the east it doesn’t make much sense, Ukraine’s lowlands are extremely flat environments where the only threats from above are airstrikes, javelins and drones.

But it being derived from the experiences in chechnya makes sense, kinda like the west went for IED and mine proof, tall APCs and MRAP vehicles during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, which are equally obsolete in a battlefield like Ukraine.
