Vice-president brushes off remarks by Donald Trump in which he said Harris āhappened to turn Blackā a number of years ago
Kamala Harris has shrugged off Donald TrumpāsĀ questioning of her racial identity, saying that it was āthe same old showā and that āAmerica deserves betterā, at a rally in Texas.
On Wednesday, in anĀ appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Trump antagonised senior Black journalists and questioned Harrisās race, saying, āShe was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didnāt know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black.ā
His interview, which was meant to last an hour,Ā according toĀ Axios, was cut short after 34 minutes.
Do you remember when Biden received a lot of flack for saying āyou aināt blackā if you vote for Trump. It was just another symptom of the problem of having leaders so ancient that they often come off as tone deaf.
In Bidenās defense, though, he seemed to recognize he misstepped and proceeded with more sensitivity.
He didnāt just seem to recognize it, he said so explicitly.
Definitely wonāt see that from Trump.
Good point. At the time, I didnāt give him the benefit of the doubt and kinda forgot over time.
