The spore charger is pretty neat and the mega hive is proper intimidating and tough, with an egg you can carry to extract for extra samples (got 2 pinks and 4 rares with mine). They did what I feared they would do with the impaler and let it place and attack with its tendrils wherever it wants. So the game design language from the first game letting you know where it is to go take it out isn’t there. Just like charger butts not being their weak points. Baffling really.

I’ve been tentacle splatted against a wall once so far, and it was retracting when it did it. Give those things some space.

On the other side of things, impalers are bulky as hell, so it’s not hard to spot them assuming you’re not in a fog bank, night, jungle, or god ray land… Which to be honest is a lot of places a lot of the time.

Played a few bug missions on the new planet. While difficult to traverse, the change up in appearance was nice.

Definitely recommend airburst to clear out trees before calling in airstrikes lol.

The new bug is also super cool. The tentacles are interesting and can make fighting a swarm hard. Only played on difficulty 6 so nothing too crazy.

Also tried out the update slugger and it feels pretty good with the increase stagger.

Haven’t played bots yet but look forward to it.

there’s an unfortunate bug where the flamethrower is ineffective against regular chargers (still works on behemoths apparently though), but other than that great update!

Is it a bug? This is buried under the miscellaneous notes. Though you’re right, I don’t see why it would behave differently on Behemoths compared to Chargers.

Adjusted flame effects to work more realistically.

It doesn’t go through various bodies/objects where bounce off would be the expected behavior, like on armors and static objects.

your telling me it’s not a bug?

i thought it was somthing to do with the new flame primary and secondarys, that shouldnt be able to kill chargers being applied to the flamethrower

but, if not, this is so bizzare

It’s not a bug. They made it so armored units deflect the fire, both alive and dead. You can still cook them, assuming you can aim at the fleshy/less armored bits.

Thanks to the friendly democrat who wrote this in chat for us yesterday, I was dumping flamethrower mags into a charger and nothing happens, always feel sorry that I can’t type on my gamepad and at least say thx lol.

On PlayStation you can hold R1 and use the left stick to point at the 4 o’clock position and your character will say “Thank you”.

Much faster than typing on a controller

I’ve only had 2 missions (due to time), is it me or are there more “random single bots” scattered about and are they more accurate now long range? the pot shots they used to take hit maybe 1 of 3, but now it seems they just keep plucking away and tagging you every time until you get a shot off.
