    Are they selling an electric 3-series in China and calling it the i3? Because in Europe and the US, the i3 is an amazingly ugly car that you couldn’t give away.

      My thoughts exactly. This is an i3 in the US and Europe:

      From a little googling, it does seem like BMW have reused this designation for a China-only version with a body as shown in the article thumbnail.
