Damn they must be living the algo free life over there on reddit. Oh to be as free as them!
instead of algorithms, reddit has “al gore rhythms” where al gore personally selects posts he likes.
bad joke i know i will go now good bye :'(
They’re all warped by the algorithm, except the people that agree with me
That’s right, liberal narrative is the one true narrative. It’s been scientifically proven.
I’m not an ideological thinker, i just happen to 100% agree with every tennent of neoliberalism and every point of US foreign policy. Enjoy your echo chamber tankie
Material conditions? that’s just the algorithm bro
Marx spent too much time on his Iphone I guess?
To be charitable, algorithm driven social media has utterly fucked people’s exposure to different kinds of information.
But this lib claiming that they are the only one unaffected by it and see’s reality, while on a mainstream social media site, is just watching the shadows on the cave wall of their algorithmic filter bubble.
Yeah it’s the utter lack of self awareness that’s hilarious. Like they can understand how media bubbles can warp the views of other people, but they’re unable to extend this logic to themselves. And the best part is how libs tend to do aggressive self policing where they refuse to even engage with any media outside their bubble.
Brace was ranting about this on a recent trueanon episode (about Luigi I think. His influences and such) but basically there’s this large group of Americans (specifically, probably other places too) that sort of “aim for the middle” of politics… without ever taking into consideration, really, what they are picking the middle between. So as the country has gone further and forever rightward for 40-50 years, the “centrist” target has also moved rightward.
Bombing Palestine into rubble or invading China are “normal, centrist” opinions
Having the same healthcare system every comparable nation has… is a radical opinion. Perhaps even a terror-plotting opinion now(!)
Exactly, the whole notion of treating the status quo as a reasonable default is just the anchoring effect fallacy. These people basically think that the system they grew up in and internalized is just how human society is organized, and any deviation from this natural and obvious default is a form of extremism. They never examine how the system actually functions and whether it makes sense or not.
my inlaw lives in the flat earth soros ruler of earth “da jooz” being the devil and almost every single conspiracy theory you can think of dimension and i will live in a garbage dump in a few years due to my money being thrown to the equivalent of dogs by my family because “stonks good” and “crypto go to moon !”
the world i live in somehow believes in chemtrails and the bug paste shit. i don’t. and i feel lonely and my brain suffers severely from any conspiracy theory i hear because everyone but me believes in that slop
I know when I started university I went from an area that’s not majority white to a very white location, and the difference of perspective really fucked with me or the entire first year. The thing that has gotten me in a better headspace was joining a Palestine advocacy group after the beginning of this genocidal campaign. Being in a group trying to do any kind if advocacy while having non-insane opinions saved the dwindling levels of patience I had.
The only advice I can give, if at all applicable, is to find any kind of anti-imperialist/labor actvist group in your university and try to find even a small selection of sane voices, cuz they’re likely going through a similar struggle. Of course that’s if this is at all applicable to your circumstance but it’s all I can offer unfortunately.
thank you for the advice… and sadly, it’s not applicable.
the uni was literally sponsored by iicmer (goverment-backed anti-communist junk whatevers) so there are no leftist-like groups. there are genuinely no groups at all.
also leftism in romania is basically not here. all “communist parties” are just socdems from what i know. i should still be hopeful anyway, nothing sucks more than doomer thought
Does anyone remember “reality has a liberal bias”?
Ironically, this reads like something my aging hippie uncle would say after taking a long pull from a joint.
