    I was in my room
And I was just like, staring at the walls thinking about everything
But then again, I was thinking about nothing
And then my mom came in, and I didn’t even know she was there
She called my name and I didn’t hear her
And then she started screaming, “Mike! Mike!”
And I go, “What? What’s the matter?”
She goes, “What’s the matter with you?”
I go, “There’s nothing wrong mom”
She goes, “Don’t tell me that, you’re on drugs!”
I go, “No mom, I’m not on drugs, I’m okay, I’m just thinking, you know? Why don’t you get me a Pepsi Diet Coke?”
She goes, “No! You’re on drugs!”
I go, “Mom, I’m okay, I’m just thinking”
And she goes, “No! You’re not thinking, you’re on drugs!
Normal people don’t act that way!”
I go, “Mom, just get me a Pepsi Diet Coke, please? All I want’s a Pepsi Diet Coke”
And she wouldn’t give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi Diet Coke
    Just one Pepsi Diet Coke
And she wouldn’t give it to me
    Just a Pepsi Diet Coke!

I just recently rediscovered this song by deep diving into punk bands from my childhood. I remember how much this song stuck with me as a kid and how much I felt like it was describing me exactly, but for some reason I forgot all about it. This song was buried so deep as I had blocked out a lot from that chapter of my life.

I could practically feel the neuron pathways reestablishing themselves, launching me back in time 25 or 30 years.

That said, pretty awesome and random thing to comment in relation to this post.

For the uninitiated, Institutionalized by the Suicidal Tendencies

It’s in Arizona 2 days ago. A 77 year old lady would not have been able to leave her house without an air conditioned car.

This is the entitled sun bird version of trapped by a blizzard and need groceries.
