Idk its easy to glance over and its not like we karma farm on lemmy. So why not let it be, some people have issues responding to people even online. There are a lot of lurkers on here and the community should allow low effort posts if they are not causing any issues because no one knows if its just someone trying to try out online communication for the first time.

that’s exactly what the comment i’m responding to is doing. it contributes nothing and serves only to inflate the poster’s ego and piggyback on upvotes on the comment it’s responding to. admittedly that works a lot less well when it’s not on a platform that artificially inflates votes on frontpage content.

no one knows if its just someone trying to try out online communication for the first time.

if they’re new to it, all the better they be pushed into good habits out of the gate and not be rewarded for shoveling slop onto everyone’s plates

“underrated comment” “came here to post this” “so much this” i swear to fuck if we let this community turn into reddit 2.0 with trite nonsense indistinguishable from bot posts spammed all over every comment section then i will never forgive you motherfuckers who let it happen by trying so hard to be nice.

This is not the way to go about it, you’re just coming off as a jackass writing an essay on why he’s right

you’re right, let’s just coddle everyone who shits up our app experience, that’s a much more efficient way to race to the bottom.

i don’t give a shit that you don’t like what i’m saying or how i’m saying it. you can’t encourage this behavior and then act shocked when it spreads all over your platform and ruins the experience for anyone trying to actually participate beyond memes and platitudes. a little unpleasantness can go a long way when it comes to discouraging antisocial behavior that someone is plainly predisposed toward.

I think there’s something about 20+ over you lose your license, so I bet the cop was cutting her a little slack by reducing it to be under that limit

+25 over is considered reckless driving in most states and can get you an insta-trip to jail.

There’s a VERY non-zero chance that Boe was caught going much much faster and the cop reduced it.

Weird how I get flashbacks from that Harvey Keitel movie where he plays a crooked detective that gets a blowjob during a traffic stop.

Well, to be fair, he was impeached for lying under oath and obstruction of justice…

Controversy over real estate was involved somewhere in the Clinton administration (the Whitewater scandal iirc), but I believe the articles of impeachment were issued over perjury committed while making statements under oath about his relationship with Lewinsky during some sexual harassment lawsuit/investigation.

So the articles of impeachment were drawn up after Clinton lied during a deposition during pretrial discovery for a sexual harassment case brought upon Clinton by Paula Jones.

The reason why Lewinsky was even brought up was because she was mentioned in the Starr report which was a report prepared for the house judiciary committee by independent counsel Ken Starr.

Ken Starr was appointed by Janet Reno, I think, originally to investigate the Clinton’s dealings with the Whitewater Land Company.

So if you connect all the red string the investigation was a real estate one that led to him lying about a blowjob.

It was a political witch hunt. Iirc there wasn’t anything wrong with the whitewater deal but they went ahead and paid the few thousand in taxes anyway

I’m not sure… he was acquitted by the Senate in his impeachment trial, which is what happened to Trump (both times), and then the whole thing just faded into obscurity…

In the mountains? Yeah. That’s dangerous anywhere, but there are plenty of places on I-70 where that can get you killed real quick. Lots of curves and steep drop-offs. Not to mention that not paying the ticket is just another example of her being a dumbass who thinks the rules don’t apply to her.

I’m calling it now: she’s gonna claim she’s immune due to the Speech and Debate Clause (even if the speeding had nothing whatsoever to do with traveling to/from Congress) and some dipshit MAGA judge is gonna buy it.

Why does it always look like the skin on her chin is being stretched too tightly over her jaw bone?
