It genuinely amazes me how these people fall right in line at a moments notice, given Trump’s history of being a horrible leader. Not just politically either; why do companies and lawyers continue to want to do business with a guy who is infamous for not paying his bills or egregiously suing people. None of his behavior is new or unknown. He’s been doing this long before he ran for president.

He’s not just a horrible leader, he’s thrown every single person who’s ever been involved with him under the bus. They all somehow think they’ll be the first one in history who doesn’t get tossed like fucking morons.

“You see the fat idiot yet? I told him he looked thinner and he subsidized coal. Didn’t even have to offer the briefcase this time.”

Manipulating the stupid and greedy is easy. They’re making money hand over fist, everything else, consequences included, is in the ether.

When I watched the Sopranos, I was always thinking I would never hang out with those dudes, because I know sooner or later I was gunna get whacked. Either you’re going down with him, or you’re going down for him.

I say that so far he’s still looking for the bootlicker that will agree to do what Pence didn’t do. Absolute loyalty without regards to oneself. You only have to look at what Giuliani is going through to see how that works out!

I might still take the job. Even is we lost my name would get in the books for something. And I could say that is why I did it after the fact. And if we won, we’ll I could step down on like day 2 or something… assuming he lived through day 1.

Well if they were more aspirational they’d probably be able to kill a whole lot more so they should consider it.

I’m half thinking Trump won’t pick a running mate and simply try to run VP-less because he’d be afraid this VP would try to knock him off and take the Presidency.

The loyal GOP base would rush to support the decision that a VP isn’t required even though we all know the Constitution requires one.

Nah, he likes having a VP to kiss his ass and tell him he’s the most awesomest person in the whole wide world. Mike Pence was such a lickspittle he’d make Smithers from the Simpsons blush. Of course, that never saves them in the end…

J.D. Vance, who will then become president and have himself crowned King of America. If you think I’m joking, look the guy up.

Capitalism will end. It’s proven more resilient than Marx thought, so it’s taking its sweet time, but it is ending. I’d say there’s a pretty good chance we go back to feudalism with King Vance, Duke Musk, and Baron Bezos, but it’s not set in stone. I like to think we inherited a shit part of the progression.

What was their reason for actually trying to hang Mike Pence? I remember hearing people joke that Mike Pence was Trump’s insurance against being shot because then Mike Pence would become president, who apparently was worse because apparently he supports electroshock therapy for gay people (which yeah, that’s reprehensible if true), but somehow he ended up leaving office looking reasonable because of what Trump did?

What was their reason for actually trying to hang Mike Pence?

In a procedural matter, he failed to announce a coup for Great Orange Leader. This is obviously treason.

According to the Trump and the Mob, Pence was supposed to use his powers over the election certification to recognize the fake electors instead of the real ones from a few key states. And failing that, get everything tossed so Congress would vote on the next president.

Fwiw, they wouldn’t have hanged him. He wouldn’t have made it to the rope.

Even if he didn’t try to have Pence killed, he doesn’t need Pence at this point. He’s got the evangelical voters now. I believe Rubio is out of Florida, so that won’t work out for obvious reasons.

Meanwhile the other two have a bit too much spine and self-respect for themselves still. The orange ego maniac will be looking for someone that obeys him at every turn.

I realize that there isn’t anyone he could pick that I’d feel comfortable with considering I don’t feel comfortable about him at all but the thought of this still made me shudder a little.
